1976 Ford F100

This 1976 Ford F100 shortbed 2WD pickup is a customized street rod with Boyd Coddington wheels, an air ride suspension, an Eclipse stereo, and an Edelbrock-upgraded 390ci V8 paired with an automatic transmission. This pickup underwent restoration in 2003 and displays custom artwork inside and out, along with straight body panels, clean brightwork, and a rust-free underbody. Finished in black with blue and purple accent flames over a black vinyl interior, this sixth-generation F-Series F100 is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear Minnesota title.

Beginning in 1973, the F-Series of light-duty and medium duty pickups moved into its sixth generation. Two years later, the split grille was reworked to include black headlight accents and exterior trim changes were applied. This F100 from 1976 conveys a shortbed body style and was refinished black with accenting blue and purple gradient flames during a comprehensive restoration in 2003. The body’s surrounding brightwork is said to show in good condition. The cargo bed is protected by a spray-in bedliner with an integrated Ford logo at the back of the cab and is covered by a roll-up tonneau cover.

Boyd Coddington chrome-finished five-spoke wheels are wrapped in Toyo Proxes tires with good tread remaining. Handling is assisted by power steering and power brakes, with discs up front. Recent chassis maintenance per the selling dealer includes replacement of the rack and pinion system, a new master cylinder, and a new brake booster.

The interior is equipped with a custom black vinyl bench seat and contrasting blue stitching, tied in with the door panels, carpeting, and hand-drawn pinstriping on the glove compartment. Cab features include an Eclipse stereo system and a floor-mounted console with controls for the air ride suspension.

Instrumentation is comprised of rectangular readouts for a 100-mph speedometer and gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 89k miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The 390ci V8 is upgraded with an Edelbrock intake, a rebuilt Edelbrock carburetor, and performance headers. The battery was replaced in 2021 and additional recent work includes replacement of the air compressor and ECM. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a column-shifted automatic transmission and 3.0 gearing with positraction.
