Vehicle Story

This 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle two-door hardtop SS tribute has driven approximately 100 miles since the installation of an upgraded small-block 350ci V8 that has been bored .030 over and paired with a B&M-shifted 4-speed 700R4 automatic transmission. Owned by the seller for the last six years, this first-generation Chevelle is outfitted with disc brakes, Rallye wheels, a newer audio system, a tilt steering column, and a complete set of AutoMeter gauges. Finished in metallic silver over a two-tone silver vinyl and black cloth interior, this Chevelle is now offered with receipts, restoration photos, and a clear California title in the seller’s name.

Produced in three generations between model years 1964 and 1978, the Chevelle was a mid-sized offering that used the General Motors A-body platform. It was offered in sedan, coupe, convertible, and station wagon variants across its lifetime. An exterior refresh of the initial design was conducted in 1966 consisting of a new treatment for the grille, bumpers, and side windows. This two-door hardtop from that year was repainted metallic silver under prior ownership. The exterior is characterized by quad headlights, chrome brightwork, dual side mirrors, SS branding, and a dual-exhaust system.

Silver Rallye wheels wear polished trim rings and center caps. Braking is power-assisted and carried out by discs up front and drums in the rear.

The interior is trimmed with two-tone silver vinyl and black cloth vinyl bucket front seats, tied in with the matching rear bench seat and black material on the door panels, padded dash, and carpeting. Features include a B&M shift lever, an Ididit tilt-adjustable steering column, an SS-branded steering wheel, and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD radio.

Auto Meter instruments include a 120-mph speedometer, an 8K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, voltage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The odometer reads 4,580 miles, although actual mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The small-block 350ci V8 has been bored .030 over and further upgraded with an Edelbrock carburetor and choke, an aluminum radiator, and 21-circuit Painless Wiring insulated wiring. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission.

Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.

The sale includes receipts and restoration photos.
