This reportedly PHS-documented 1973 Pontiac GTO coupe is powered by a 400ci V8 engine bored .060 and backed by an M22 4-speed manual transmission. Features include forged TRW pistons, a tilt steering column, power steering, power disc brakes, a remote driver’s sport mirror, a hood-mounted tachometer, a rear wing, and an aftermarket CD stereo. This maroon GTO with a white vinyl interior is available now and comes clear title in the seller’s name.
Refinished in maroon reportedly 20 years ago, this GTO with the Colonnade body style features a tachometer on the vented GTO-only hood, a 1971 GTO trunk-mounted spoiler, quarter window louvers, dual headlights, a split black grille, and chrome front and rear bumpers. A video of the car can be seen in the carousel to the right.
A set of gray aluminum Pontiac snowflake wheels is wrapped in Futura GLS Super Sport raised-white-letter radial tires.
Interior equipment includes white vinyl front bucket seats with a matching rear bench seat, interior door panels, and headliner as well as woodgrain accents and a tilt steering column topped with a 3-spoke Pontiac sport wheel. The center console houses a 4-speed Hurst Super Shifter.
The 3-gauge cluster mounted in the black dashboard includes a 120-mph speedometer and readouts for the fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The seller reports there are 114,563 miles on the odometer, but true mileage is unknown.
The power is provided by a 400ci V8 engine bored .060 to 413ci and equipped with Edelbrock round-port aluminum heads, Ram Air IV exhaust manifolds, an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, a Crane cam, a double-roller timing chain, stock connecting rods, TRW forged pistons, a Melling 80-psi oil pump, and a PerTronix ignition system with a Flame-Thrower coil. Originally an automatic, the transmission is now a Muncie M22 4-speed with a Hays clutch pressure plate and throw-out bearing.
This GTO came from the factory with an independent front suspension and a solid rear axle.
