This 1971 Datsun 240Z was repainted under previous ownership in 2018 and acquired in June of 2020 by the current owner, who subsequently updated the interior, installed a programmable electronic ignition system, and replaced the valve cover, radiator, starter, and alternator. Features include fog lights, front disc brakes, Sumitomo tires, rear window louvers, and an AM radio. The 2.4-liter inline-6 is equipped with triple Weber carburetors and delivers its power to the road through a four-speed manual transmission. Refinished in silver over a black vinyl interior, this 240Z is available now and comes with service records, a jack, wheel chocks, two keys, uninstalled parts, and a clear Florida title in the seller’s name.
The exterior was reportedly repainted silver in 2018 and features a front-hinged hood, rectangular fog lights, front and rear side marker lights, a locking fuel door, and rear window louvers. Badging is located on the hood, fenders, C-pillars, and rear hatch. Brightwork highlights the bumpers, mirror housings, greenhouse trim, door handles, side moldings, and driver-side exhaust tip. According to the seller, the headlights and wiper arms were replaced under their ownership.
A set of aftermarket 15-inch wheels with red trim rings and red Datsun center caps are wrapped in 195/60 Sumitomo HTR A/S PO2 tires. Front discs and rear drums provide braking power. Handling is assisted by a four-wheel independent suspension.
The interior was reportedly refurbished under current ownership and comes with Kilmat sound deadening material, refilled and dyed black vinyl bucket seats, and a replacement dashboard cap, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include a wood-rimmed steering wheel, an AM radio, a wood shift knob, a locking glove box, and a cabin heater. The carpeted rear storage area contains a spare wheel, jack, jumper cables, and pair of wheel chocks.
Vehicle information is displayed on a 160-mph speedometer and an 8K-rpm tachometer in the dashboard. The center stack houses a clock and readouts for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and amperage. The 5-digit mechanical odometer shows approximately 71K miles, roughly 300 of which were driven by the seller.
The L24 2.4-liter inline-6 is equipped with a rebuilt cylinder head and triple Weber carburetors. It sends its power out through a four-speed manual gearbox and the rear wheels. According to the seller, the following parts have been installed or replaced during their period of ownership:
- PerTronix Flame-Thrower ignition coil
- 123ignition programmable electronic ignition system
- Electronic fuel pump
- Stainless steel radiator
- Polished alternator
- Chrome oil filter
- Exhaust system with chrome headers
- Alternator
- Starter
- Valve cover
- Fuel lines
- Spark plugs
