1970 Toyota FJ40

This 1970 Toyota FJ40 is finished in dark green over a gray cloth interior and is powered by a 3.9-liter inline-6 cylinder engine paired with a 3-speed manual transmission.  Equipment includes four-wheel-drive, a tube roll cage, rear-mounted spare tire, removable canvas doors, and side fold-up rear seats. Located in Columbus, Ohio, this FJ40 is now offered for sale with a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name. 

This FJ is finished in forest green and has a black cloth top attached to the roll bar. The front bumper features an integrated winch installed and a full-size spare tire mounted to the tailgate.  Diamond plate running boards were installed under the doors and step is built into the rear bumper.

Factory steel 15” wheels with polished center caps are mounted to Dunlop Mud Rover tires measuring 30x9.5 on all four corners. The truck retains its factory suspension setup with solid axles front and rear with parallel leaf springs and shocks.

The interior is fitted with a split-folding cloth bench seat with matching tan carpeting while the rest of the interior features black floor mats, dashboard, door panels. Side-mounted fold-up seats are installed in the rear compartment, upholstered in the same gray cloth as the front seat. The truck retains the black factory 3-spoke steering wheel, with a column-mounted shifter for the 3-speed manual transmission.

Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer along with supplementary gauges for oil temperature, coolant temperature, fuel level, and voltage.  The five-digit odometer reads approximately 38,500 miles but is currently inoperable so true mileage is unknown. The has added just under 1k miles in 4 years of ownership

The 3.9-liter engine is original to the vehicle and is unmodified.  Recent maintenance includes a rebuilt clutch, replacement clutch cylinder, and rebuilt braking system, with receipts are available. Backing the engine is a 3-speed manual transmission and 2-speed transfer for the four-wheel-drive system.
