This 1962 Mercury Monterey S-55 Convertible is one of only 1,315 S-55 convertibles produced in 1962. Features include power steering, manual brakes, a power convertible top, power windows, and bucket front seats with a center console. The power is provided by the reportedly original 390ci V8 and processed by a factory 4-speed manual transmission. This white Monterey with a white fabric convertible top and a red vinyl interior is available now and comes with a clear title from the selling dealer.
This Monterey is finished in Sultana White (M) with a white convertible top. Features include chrome front and rear bumpers, wheel arch moldings, quad headlights with a vertical-bar grille, fender ornaments, full-length bodyside chrome, a fender-mounted antenna, a chrome driver-side mirror housing, dual jet-inspired taillights, and rear trim with integrated reverse lights and a fuel door.
A set of 14-inch black steel wheels with full Mercury hubcaps are fitted with whitewall radial tires.
The front bucket seats and matching rear bench seat are covered in red vinyl and surrounded by matching door panels and trim. Features include a red steel dashboard with a red vinyl top pad, a red center console with a 4-speed manual transmission shifter and power window switches, and red carpeting. The steering column is topped with a 3-spoke red steering wheel with a chrome half horn ring.
A 120-mph sweep speedometer, an analog clock, gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature, and warning lights for the oil pressure and voltage convey important vehicle information. The 5-place odometer shows 79,182 miles, which the selling dealer believes is an accurate number.
The power is provided by the reportedly original 390ci V8 backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. Features include gold Mercury-embossed valve covers, a gold closed-element air cleaner, a canister fuel filter, power steering, and cast-iron exhaust manifolds.
This Mercury convertible was originally equipped with a coil-spring independent front suspension and a solid leaf spring-mounted rear axle on a full-length perimeter frame. Features include 4-wheel manual drum brakes and a full-length dual exhaust system.
