Vehicle Story

This 1963 Mercury Monterey 4-door hardtop has been with the selling dealer for seven years and is equipped with its reportedly original 390ci V8 engine and Merc-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission. Features include a "Breezeway" retractable rear window, driver- and passenger-side mirrors, power windows, air conditioning, and power brakes and steering. This Honey Beige Mercury with a Medium Beige and Pearl cloth and vinyl interior is available now and comes from the selling dealer with a clear Florida title.

The exterior of this 4-door hardtop was repainted in the original color of Honey Beige under previous ownership. It features quad headlamps, chrome front and rear bumpers, full-length mid-body trim, lower body trim, six taillights with reverse lights, and a "Breezeway" retractable rear window. The selling dealer notes that the driver’s mirror needs to be put back in the original location and all lines are perfect with some minor damage to the paint. They add that the chrome accents need to be polished.

A set of 14-inch steel wheels with correct full hub caps is wrapped in P215/75/R14 radial tires.

The front bench seat and rear seat are upholstered in Medium Beige cloth and Pearl vinyl. Features include power windows, power steering, power brakes, non-functioning air conditioning, tan carpeting, a brown dashboard with a brown top pad, an AM radio, a clock, and a 3-spoke steering wheel with a brown and cream rim. According to the seller, the driver’s side of the front bench seat is separating due to age. An antenna is present, but is not connected.

A 120-mph sweep speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature are mounted ahead of the driver. The odometer shows 84,465 miles, but the selling dealer states that the true milage is unknown.

The power is provided by a 390ci V8 engine backed by a Merc-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission, both of which are original, according to the selling dealer. Features include cast-iron exhaust manifolds, Mercury-embossed valve covers, a red closed-element air cleaner, air conditioning, and power steering. The seller notes that the car is due for a tune up and the carburetor needs to be cleaned.

This Mercury Monterey came factory equipped with a perimeter frame, an independent front suspension, and a solid rear drive axle. The full-length dual exhaust system was replaced four years ago.
