Vehicle Story

This 1976 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 is a driver-grade pickup with an aftermarket 350ci V8 that has been driven 10,000 miles. It received recent work to the chassis including replacement of the shock absorbers, front ball joints, and brake components. Power is sent to a newer set of Yokohama tires through a rebuilt automatic transmission and a 2-speed transfer case. Finished in two-tone white and tan over a brown vinyl interior, this Sierra is now offered with receipts and a clear North Carolina title in the seller’s name.

Launched in 1973, the Rounded Line series of General Motors C/K pickups had a recessed grille and reconfigured styling compared to the previous generation of Action Line trucks. A refresh in 1975 again modified the look of the front fascia with a six-segment grille. This Sierra 1500 from the following year has its original body panels that received rust repair and a repaint under prior ownership. The two-tone white and tan color scheme has some spots on the bottoms of the doors showing rust bubbles as seen in the photo carousel. Equipment includes chrome bumpers, bright mirror caps, High Sierra fender badging, a sliding rear window, and a tow receiver.

Steel 15-inch wheels with polished trim rings are set inside of newer Yokohama Geolandar A/T raised-white-letter tires. Newer parts include the Warn locking hubs and driveshaft, rear leaf springs with Monroe load adjusting shocks, front ball joints, steering stabilizer, and power steering pump. The braking system uses a newer master cylinder and brake booster.

The cab is furnished with a brown vinyl bench seat, matched to the door panels, dash, and carpeting. The sound system consists of an in-dash Pioneer cassette tape deck and an under-dash Audiovox 8-track tape player. An air conditioning system came factory-installed, but the compressor along with the radio's volume and tuning knobs is missing.

Instrumentation is presented within a wood veneer bezel and includes a 100-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, voltage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 10K miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The aftermarket 350ci V8 has accrued approximately 10,000 miles since installation in 2017. Performance upgrades include an Edelbrock 650-cfm carburetor and an Edelbrock aluminum intake. Recent maintenance includes the replacement of the alternator, battery, fuel sender, and fuel pump along with the installation of an Accel distributor. Power is fed to all four wheels via a column-shifted rebuilt automatic transmission and a 2-speed transfer case.

Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.

The sale includes some receipts. The seller has provided a video of the truck below.
