Vehicle Story

This garage-kept 1980 MG MGB that has been in the same family for 42 years is powered by a 1,798cc 4-cylinder engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Features include a luggage rack, soft top with a plastic back window, power brakes, and driver- and passenger-side mirrors. This blue MGB with a tan vinyl interior is available now and comes with a Haynes Repair Manual, car cover, and clear North Dakota title.

Features on this blue British roadster include front and rear urethane bumpers, dual headlamps, a chrome windshield frame, vent windows, driver- and passenger-side mirrors, a manual black convertible top with a plastic rear window, U.S.-spec taillights, and a luggage rack. According to the seller, the paint is in great condition.

A set of original steel wheels with full wire hub caps is wrapped in radial tires.

The bucket seats and door panels are upholstered in tan vinyl. Features include a center console with a manual transmission shifter, manual windows, black carpeting, an aftermarket AM/FM cassette stereo with door-mounted speakers, and a black vinyl dashboard that shows cracks from age.

An 80-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for the coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure are set in a vinyl-covered panel in front of the driver. The odometer shows 59K miles, but the vehicle's true mileage is unknown.

Power is provided by a 1,798cc 4-cylinder engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Features include factory smog equipment, a single carburetor, and a cast iron exhaust manifold. According to the seller, the engine runs well but needs a tune-up.

This final-model-year MGB came from the factory with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Stopping is handled by power front disc brakes and rear drums.

A Haynes Repair Manual and car cover are included with the sale of the vehicle.

@MG1977_MGM1992 – Hello, nice MGB. A few questions. is the overdrive functional? Are the gauges all functional? In what shape is the top? Is the window clear or hazy? Does it have any electrical issues? Thank you for your help. ...

Thank you! Yes overdrive is functional. Gauges are all functional . As far as electrical issues, I don’t believe the horn is working. The top is in pretty good shape overall, I’ll be honest I hardly ever had it up but it does work and seal well Window is clear. One other thing to note is the breaks have a slow oil leak. If it sits for a long time you will have to add a bit of break fluid and pumps the breaks, then she’s good to go! Hope this helps .
