This 1962 Chevrolet Nova II Pro Street build is powered by a 565ci big-block Chevrolet V8 built by Paul Williams specialties, backed by a Pro Glide Powerglide 2-speed automatic with a transmission brake and 3,800-rpm stall convertor. Features include a tube chassis, narrowed rear axle, fiberglass cowl hood, and bucket seats. This metallic teal Nova II with a gray fabric interior is available now and comes with a clear California title.
The all-steel body has been refinished in a Mazda shade of teal. Features include dual headlamps, chrome front and rear bumper, a fiberglass cowl hood, full-length mid-body trim, and dual taillights. The seller notes that all of the weatherstripping is in good condition.
A set of aluminum staggered-width American Racing Torque Thrust wheels with gray spokes is wrapped in 165/R15 Firestone F560 front tires and 33/19.5 Mickey Thompson rear tires.
A pair of 1990s-era gray fabric bucket seats has been installed. The rear seat has been removed and wide Pro Street tubs have been added. Features include an aftermarket 3-spoke steering wheel, gray carpet throughout with 1962 Chevy II embroidered logos, an ARC overhead switch console, a 12-point roll cage with custom padding, a set of roll bar-mounted safety harnesses, a floor-mounted Hurst pistol grip shifter, and manual windows. The carpeted trunk contains an aluminum fuel cell with braided fuel supply and vent lines, and an Optima battery with a billet aluminum bracket. A video can be found in the carousel to the right.
A set of Autometer gauges for various vehicle systems is mounted in custom panels ahead of the driver. No speedometer is present. A 9K-rpm Autometer tachometer with a shift light is mounted to the top of the dashboard. According to the seller, the odometer shows 1,500 miles, but the true mileage on the car is unknown.
Power is provided by a 565ci big-block Chevrolet V8 built by Paul Williams specialties in Bakersfield, CA, backed by a Pro Glide Powerglide 2-speed automatic with a transmission brake and 3,800-rpm stall convertor. Seller states the firewall was cut to bring the engine back. Features include a Marlin block, Eagle 4340 crankshaft, Eagle H-beam rods, 12:1 forged pistons, a Lunati roller camshaft, roller lifters, Jesel shaft rocker arms, Canfield aluminum heads, an aluminum 4-barrel intake, a Keith Black gear drive, a Holley 1,050-cfm Dominator carburetor, an electric water pump, a 130-amp polished alternator, custom-built headers, and Mallory ignition. An aftermarket aluminum radiator with dual electric fans has been mounted to the body-color core support.
All the original suspension, chassis, and floors have been replaced with modified parts for the Pro Street build. Custom features include a box-tube chassis finished in metallic silver, a Mustang II-style coilover front suspension with tubular upper and lower control arms, and a narrowed rear frame section with a 4-link-mounted 9-inch rear axle with 40-spline axles and 4:10 gears. Stopping power is provided by manual cross-drilled JFZ disc brakes. A custom-built dual exhaust system has been wrapped with insulation and mounted high for ground clearance.
