This 1998 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4x4 has a custom snorkel, a removable cloth top, a Skyjacker lift, and BFGoodrich tires. It receives power from a recently serviced 4.0-liter AMC inline-6 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. Maintenance in the last few months includes an oil change, a differential fluid change, and an alignment. Finished in Moss Green with a black soft top over a tan and black cloth interior, this TJ-series Wrangler is now offered with an owner’s manual, a CARFAX report, and a clear Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.
The Wrangler mid-size four-wheel-drive SUV went into production in 1986 as an evolution of the Jeep CJ series that dates back to the mid-1940s. The TJ variant came to market as the second-generation Wrangler model with evolutionary cosmetic and engineering changes in 1997. This Wrangler Sahara two-door from 1998 has a rust-free body finished in Moss Green with a removable black cloth top. The body is equipped with a bug deflector, dual tow hooks, auxiliary halogen fog lamps, aftermarket fender flares, a snorkel, taillight guards, and a rear-mounted spare tire.
Black-finished steel wheels are surrounded by BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A raised-white-letter tires. This Wrangler uses a Skyjacker-lifted coil spring suspension. An alignment was performed within the last two months.
The two-tone black and tan interior has cloth bucket seats up front and a bench in the rear. Features include air conditioning, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a height-adjustable steering column, and intermittent windshield wipers. A newer AM/FM/CD head unit has been installed, but the seller notes that it is not working.
Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer, a 6K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The digital odometer reads 136K miles, which is in line with the mileage shown on the CARFAX report.
The 4.0-liter AMC inline-6 was recently serviced with an oil change. The seller notes that the front and rear differential fluids were changed in March of 2022. Power is sent to all four wheels via a console-shifted 3-speed automatic transmission.
Additional undercarriage photos can be found in the gallery.
The CARFAX report shows the left side of the vehicle received minor damage in January of 2010. The vehicle passed a Pennsylvania emissions and mechanical inspection in January of 2022. The sale includes an owner’s manual.
