This 1978 Dodge Ramcharger 4x4 is a full-size sport utility vehicle powered by a 360ci V8 mated to a 4-speed manual transmission and a 2-speed transfer case. It rides on a lift and Goodyear 31-inch tires, featuring equipment such as a Hurst shift lever, M/T valve covers, and a refinished dashboard. Refinished in two-tone blue over a two-tone blue cloth and vinyl interior, this first-generation Ramcharger is now offered by the selling dealer with an owner’s manual and a clear title.
This Ramcharger was a full-sized two-door sport utility vehicle released in 1974 that shared chassis underpinnings with Dodge D-Series and Ram pickups. This 1978 model was repainted two-tone light blue and dark blue with a darker matte finish for the steel top. Brightwork includes a hood ornament, chrome grab-handles, and side mirrors. The selling dealer notes that the roof shows patina and small dings on the leading edge and that the remainder of the exterior shows wear consistent with age. Detailed images of the cosmetic blemishes are shown in the photo carousel.
Steel 15-inch wheels with chrome baby moon hubcaps and trim rings are surrounded by 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler raised-white-letter tires. The suspension has been lifted.
The cabin is furnished with blue cloth and vinyl bench seats which contrast with the black vinyl door panels and replacement dark blue carpeting throughout the cabin and rear cargo area. The dashboard has been refinished and the transmission is controlled via a Hurst shift lever. The door panels and other parts of the interior show wear consistent with age as shown in the photos.
Vehicle information is delivered through a 100-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for the voltage, fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 96K miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The 360ci V8 is painted orange and features M/T-branded valve covers and a chrome-finished air cleaner. Power is sent to all four wheels via a floor-shifted 4-speed manual transmission and a 2-speed transfer case.
Additional photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.
The sale includes an owner’s manual. The selling dealer has posted a video of the vehicle below.
