Vehicle Story

This 1984 Mercedes-Benz 190E four-door luxury sedan has been driven 67,881 miles since new and is powered by a 2.3-liter inline-4 paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. It has been Arizona-owned long-term and garage-kept by the seller for the last five years. Equipment includes an Alpine CD stereo, Borbet wheels, and power convenience options. Finished in Champagne Metallic over a Palomino MB-Tex interior, this W201 190E is now offered with the removed original Becker Grand Prix radio, original first aid kit, a tool roll, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear Arizona title in the seller’s name.

Styled by Bruno Sacco, the German-built W201 debuted in 1983 as a compact executive car. This rust-free 190E from the following year has been garage-kept under the seller’s five-year ownership and wears its original Champagne Metallic paint. The exterior has composite headlamps, a chrome grille, and black bumpers, mirror caps, and door handles. The seller notes that there are some dings on one of the rear doors, which can be seen in the photo gallery to the right.

Silver 15-inch Borbet aluminum wheels are wrapped in tires with black sidewall lettering.

The cabin is fitted with Palomino MB-Tex bucket seats up front and a bench in the rear, matched to the door panels, center console, and carpeting. The black dash is said to be crack-free. Amenities include tinted and power-operated windows and an aftermarket Alpine AM/FM/CD player. The seller notes that the electric sunroof needs work.

Instrumentation consists of a 130-mph speedometer, 7K-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and instantaneous fuel economy. The 6-digit mechanical odometer reads 67,881 miles, which is in line with the mileage shown on the CARFAX report.

The DOHC 16-valve 2.3-liter inline-4 was rated at 167 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque when new. The CARFAX report shows that the air conditioning system was serviced in 2017. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 5-speed manual transmission.

The suspension architecture includes anti-roll bars at both ends and a 5-link setup at the rear.

The CARFAX report shows a vehicle history that is free of accidents or damage. The sale includes the car’s removed original Becker Grand Prix radio, original first aid kit, and a tool roll.
