Vehicle Story

This 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS two-door hardtop has reportedly spent its entire life in the Pacific Northwest and underwent a repaint in its original color and an overhaul of its console-equipped interior. Its small-block 327ci Turbo-Fire V8 is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission and sends power to the ground through a set of Grand Prix Performance GT tires on Rallye wheels. Refinished in Ermine White over a red vinyl interior, this fourth-generation Impala is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear title.

The full-sized Impala model emerged as Chevrolet’s flagship offering in 1958. A complete redesign was rolled out in 1965 when the car grew into its fourth generation, which had more rounded sides, a new front end, and a more sharply raked windshield. This Impala SS two-door hardtop from that initial year of the generation wears a newer coat of Ermine White (C) paint. Design features include quad headlights, chrome brightwork, and Super Sport emblems.

Steel 15-inch Rallye wheels with polished trim rings and center caps are wrapped in raised-white-letter Grand Prix Performance GT tires. This Impala rides on a full-width perimeter frame and a redesigned suspension when compared to prior-year models.

The cabin is fitted with red vinyl low-back bucket front seating, matched to the door panels, dash, headliner, carpeting, and rear bench. According to the selling dealer, the carpet kit, dash pad, and package tray are new. Amenities include an Impala-branded steering wheel, a full-length center console, aluminum trim, a radio, a heater, and a locking glove compartment. The trunk is lined with a vinyl mat and contains a spare tire.

Vehicle information is conveyed through a sweeping 120-mph speedometer along with a combination gauge for the fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage. A manifold vacuum gauge is housed in the center-dash. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 39K miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The small-block 327ci Turbo-Fire V8 is surrounded by a matte black engine bay. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 4-speed manual transmission.
