Vehicle Story

This modified 1989 Jeep Wrangler two-door 4x4 is powered by an upgraded Chevrolet 5.3-liter Vortec V8 paired with a Chevrolet 4L60 4-speed automatic transmission and an NP231 transfer case. It has a newer paint job and a removable black soft top with plastic windows. Upgrades include nerf bars, Dana 44 front and rear axles, a dual-exhaust system, and a Lokar shifter. Finished in metallic green over a gray cloth interior, this YJ Wrangler is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean CARFAX report and a clear Florida title.

Beginning with the 1986 model year, the YJ-series Wrangler was offered as a compact off-road sport utility vehicle using styling that was derivative of the original CJ. Its wheelbase remained the same, although the chassis used wider tracks and a lower stance. This Wrangler from 1989 received a cosmetic and mechanical overhaul including a complete body sandblasting and a repaint in metallic green with matching fender flares. The exterior is topped by a newer removable black soft top with plastic windows. Additional design elements include black bumpers, tubular nerf bars, a hitch receiver, and a dual-exhaust system.

Polished aluminum wheels are set inside of aftermarket tires with black sidewall lettering. The Dana 44 front and rear spring-over axles were sourced from a 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer for a wider track. The front axle has Reid Racing outer knuckles for optimized ground clearance and geometry.

The cabin is fitted with gray cloth bucket seats contrasted by the black door panels, dash, and carpeting. The interior has been treated with Rhino Linings material. Amenities include a Lokar shifter and a Grant GT steering wheel.

AutoMeter Phantom instruments with white faces consist of a speedometer, 10K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and more. The replacement odometer reads approximately 5K miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The upgraded Chevrolet 5.3-liter Vortec V8 is accompanied by Chevrolet electronics equipment and throttle by wire. Upgrades include a custom air intake and an aluminum four-core radiator with an electric fan. Power is transferred to all four wheels through a floor-shifted Chevrolet 4-speed 4L60 automatic transmission and an NP231 transfer case.

The frame has been power-coated and the underbody has been undercoated, per the selling dealer.

The CARFAX report shows a vehicle history free of accidents or damage.
