This 1957 Chevrolet 3100 pickup received a frame-off restoration from a specialty facility in Kentucky and features an upgraded big-block 454ci V8 under the hood with a FiTech fuel injection system, MSD ignition components, ceramic-coated headers, and a custom dual exhaust system. Power is fed through a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive to a limited-slip rear end and Cragar Quick Trick chrome wheels. Additional equipment includes Vintage Air, AutoMeter gauges, a Lokar shifter, and a tilt-adjustable steering column. Finished in metallic dark blue over a black vinyl interior, this 3100 is now offered with an engine build sheet and a clear Kentucky title in the seller’s name.
Chevrolet’s Task Force full-size pickup trucks were based on the General Motors A-body platform and arrived in the marketplace in 1955. By 1957, a more open grille replaced the previous egg crate version. Under prior ownership, this custom 3100 pickup from that year was treated to a frame-off restoration completed in 2018 by S&J Kustoms in Owensboro, Kentucky. The body was coated in metallic dark blue. Features include chrome bumpers, an embossed tailgate, and a dual exhaust system. The cargo area has replacement wood panels and stainless steel hardware. A 19-gallon fuel tank was installed underneath the bed behind the rear axle.
Chrome Cragar Quick Trick wheels are wrapped in tires with black sidewall lettering.
The cab is fitted with a black vinyl bench seat, matched to the door panels, dash, carpeting, and floor mats. Amenities include a Lokar shifter and a tilt-adjustable steering column. A Vintage Air A/C and heat setup has been installed but needs service, according to the seller. The Custom Autosound stereo with under-seat speakers is also in need of adjustment.
Vehicle information is provided through a set of AutoMeter gauges consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, an external tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level and other readouts. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 1,197 miles, although the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The upgraded big-block 454ci V8 was assembled by a specialty facility called Lykins Motorsports and has been dyno-tested at 520 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque. Performance equipment includes a FiTech fuel injection system, an MSD ignition coil and ignition system, a custom exhaust system with ceramic-coated headers, an aluminum radiator with auxiliary fans, and Ron Francis wiring. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and a Ford 9-inch limited-slip rear end with 3.70:1 gearing.
The front end was sourced from a Ford Mustang II and comes equipped with power-assisted rack and pinion steering. Stopping power comes from disc brakes. Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.
The sale includes an engine build sheet.
