Vehicle Story

This unmodified 1999 Indian Chief limited edition motorcycle is #173 of 1,100 made and powered by a 1,442cc V-Twin engine matched to a 5-speed manual transmission. Features include chrome exhaust pipes, chrome mirror caps, driving lights, and a front fender marker light. This gloss black Indian Chief Special with a black seat is available now and comes with an indoor cover, an unused outdoor cover, a locking quick-disconnect Indian windshield, a passenger seat pad, Indian Motorcycle artwork, receipts, and a clear California title in the seller's name.

This 1999 Indian Chief limited edition motorcycle is #173 of 1,100 made as verified by the chassis tag and has been with the seller for the last 20 years. The gas tank and front and rear fenders are finished in gloss black. Features include chrome dual exhaust pipes with fishtail exhaust tips, a chrome-ringed headlight, driving lights, a front fender marker light, chrome footrests with rubber pads, and chrome and rubber passenger foot pegs. The seller will include two covers and a spare Indian windshield with the sale. The seller states that this Indian was kept for 10 years in a climate-controlled office building as a showpiece and started once a month.

A set of chrome wire wheels are wrapped in radial tires.

The black seat has chrome studs and tassels.

A 120-mph white-faced speedometer with the Indian Motorcycle company logo is mounted to the top of the gas tank ahead of the rider. The odometer reads 640 miles. According to the seller, the true mileage is 1,440 because the speedometer was replaced at 800 miles. The seller will provide receipts verifying the replacement.

Power is provided by a 1,442cc V-Twin engine matched to a 5-speed manual transmission. An upgraded lithium-ion battery has been installed.

The frame is finished in gloss black with polished aluminum front forks. Braking power is provided by manual disc brakes.

The seller will include an indoor cover, an unused outdoor cover, a locking quick-disconnect Indian windshield, a passenger seat pad, Indian Motorcycle artwork, and receipts with the sale.

@surf4cars – This is numbered bike, # 173 of 1100 of these made. At the time S&S was making the motors , and Polaris had not purchased Indian yet. It's completely stock, rides excellent and people who don't like motorcycles think this one is nice to look at. If you have been in a Ruby's restaurant you may have seen one up on display. (usually red ones) Know for a fact 3 of these sold for 20k+, one on BAT in June. Fine people at AutoHunter didnt know the bikes either, so I went with a lower reserve to make it a good deal, based on what I now of the market on these bikes. Sorry to see the bidding so low, wont pain me to keep it. Had second thoughts after listing it. Bid like you mean it, if you want it, there are not many of these left. ...
