Vehicle Story

This one-family-owned 2015 Mercedes-Benz SL 550 hardtop convertible has been driven 12,310 miles since new and is powered by a 429-horsepower 4.6-liter biturbo V8 paired with a 9G-Tronic Plus 9-speed automatic transmission. It was originally sold in Wilsonville, Oregon and stayed in the Pacific Northwest until being relocated to Idaho in early 2020 where it has been garage-kept. Features include a power-retractable hardtop, bi-xenon headlamps, a COMAND infotainment system, and 19-inch AMG wheels. Finished in metallic graphite over a white Nappa leather interior, this R231 SL is now offered with a CARFAX report and a clear Idaho title in the seller’s name.

The SL grand tourer joined the Mercedes-Benz family lineup in the mid-1950s. In 2012, the sixth-generation model was introduced to the world as the R231 variant. The new model was two inches longer than the previous iteration and based on an aluminum space frame. This garage-kept metallic graphite 2015 SL 550 has a color-matched power-retractable hardtop and has reportedly been meticulously cared for since it was new. The exterior features daytime running lights, bi-xenon headlights, fender strakes, an integrated LED third brake lamp, and chrome dual exhaust outlets.

AMG Sport 19-inch five-spoke wheels are wrapped in staggered-sized low-profile tires.

The cabin is fitted with cooled and heated, ventilated, dynamic controlled and power-operated white Nappa leather bucket seats, matched to the door panels, center console, and lower dash panels. The dash pad, carpeting, and floor mats are finished in contrasting black. Features include massaging seats, keyless entry, active parking assist, COMAND infotainment and navigation, and a Harman Kardon Logic7 surround-sound audio system with Bluetooth connectivity.

Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, 7K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer reads 12,310 miles, which is supported by the CARFAX report.

The 4.6-liter biturbo V8 was rated at 429 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque when new and was serviced in February of 2022 by Lyle Pearson Auto in Boise, Idaho, according to the CARFAX. The report also shows consistent prior maintenance carried out via Mercedes-Benz of Wilsonville, Oregon. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 9G-Tronic Plus 9-speed automatic transmission.

The suspension uses adaptive damping. Stopping power comes from anti-lock disc brakes.

The CARFAX report shows a report of minor damage dated January of 2021. The car passed an Idaho emissions inspection in April of 2021.
