This 1986 Jeep CJ-7 was recently restored by its previous owner in 2018 and is finished in red Line-X protective coating with a black removable hardtop over a black interior. Powered by a 350ci Chevrolet V8 crate engine, power is sent to all four wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. Features include power steering & brakes, lift kit, larger wheels and tires, upgraded bumpers, and interior audio upgrades. Located in Waynesboro Mississippi, this CJ7 is now offered for sale with restoration receipts and a clean CARFAX on a clear Mississippi title in the seller's name.
The body is finished in Line-X protective coating that has been tinted red, while the removable hardtop is coated in the same material with a black finish. The factory bumpers have been replaced with Smitty Build units, complete with a 9,500 lb. winch on the front along with a push bar and auxiliary lights. Tubular rock sliders have been installed on the rocker panels for protection during off-road use and double as a side step for easier entry and matching black fender flares have been installed to accommodate the larger tires. Additional features include a partial soft top and black taillight guards.
15” American Racing wheels are installed on all four corners, as well as the spare tire on the rear. The wheels are wrapped in 33” BF Goodrich All-Terrain Tires. Braking is provided by power-assisted discs in the front and discs in the rear. The suspension consists of larger leaf springs with Blistein shocks.
The interior features Rugged Ridge seats upholstered in black vinyl with a center console-mounted in between. The floor has been coated with black Line-X, while the dash face was sprayed with the same material in red. A JVC Bluetooth head unit was installed along with new speakers located under the dash and in the rear compartment. Lap belts on all seats and a full roll bar have been installed for safety, while a bumper jack is stored in the rear compartment.
Instrumentation consists of an 85mph speedometer with integrated fuel level and water temperature gauges, a 6k rpm tachometer, and additional gauges for oil pressure and voltage located in the center of the dash. The odometer currently reads just over 166k miles, which is consistent with reports on CARFAX. The truck has covered 7,500 miles since the restoration and installation of the new engine.
The original engine has been upgraded with a crate 350ci Chevrolet V8, equipped with an Edelbrock carburetor, Hedman headers, and a Speed Warrior intake manifold. The engine block, valve covers and air cleaner are finished in black, while the engine bay is finished in the same red protective coating as the rest of the exterior. An aluminum radiator has been added for improved cooling performance. Power is transferred to the wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission with a 2-speed transfer case and solid axles front and rear.
Additional underside photos are available in the gallery.
Included in the sale are the removable hardtop, partial soft top, and a binder of receipts and photos documenting the frame off restoration.
