Vehicle Story

This 1931 Ford Phaeton street rod is powered by a 355ci small-block Chevrolet V8 engine backed by a TH350 automatic transmission. Features include a 4-inch dropped chrome front axle with newly installed rack-and-pinion steering, disc brakes, a 9-inch Ford rear axle, 1932 Ford commercial headlights, heated front seats, and an Alpine stereo system with amplifier and subwoofer. This Raven Black Ford with a tan leather interior is available now and comes with manuals, receipts, and a clear Colorado title in the seller’s name.

The fiberglass body and steel hood, fenders, and grille were finished in Raven Black as part of a custom build completed in 2012. Exterior features include the deletion of the front and rear bumpers, a chrome front spreader bar, a chrome dropped headlight bar, 1932 Ford commercial headlights with integrated turn signals, and a 1932 Ford grille shell with a stainless insert. Additional features include a 4-piece hood with louvered sides, chrome cowl lamps, a chopped windshield with glass wind wings and chrome mirror caps, and dual taillights. The black Haartz cloth top covers LeBaron Bonney stainless top irons with oak bows and comes equipped with a glass rear window and a third brake light.

A set of polished aluminum American Racing wheels is wrapped in radial tires.

The heated front bucket seats, rear seat, trim, and door panels are upholstered in tan leather. Interior features include tan German square-weave carpet, a color-matched subwoofer box, a floor-mounted Lokar shifter with a clock-face shift knob and emergency brake, a body-color dashboard panel, an IdidIt tilt steering column, manual steering, and manual brakes.

A Stewart Warner gauge set including a 160-mph speedometer, 8K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, voltage, water temperature, and oil pressure is located in the dashboard ahead of the driver. The 5-digit mechanical odometer currently reads 4,200 miles, which the seller states is an accurate reading, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

Power is provided by a 355ci small-block Chevrolet V8 engine backed by a TH350 automatic transmission. Underhood features include finned aluminum valve covers, an oil breather, an air cleaner with red accents, a polished aluminum intake, a 4-barrel carburetor, a finned aluminum coil cover, block-hugger tube headers, and an electric fan.

The chassis has been updated with a chrome 4-inch dropped tube front axle with manual rack-and-pinion steering, dual side-fill fuel tanks, and a 9-inch Ford rear drive axle with a limited-slip differential. Manual disc brakes provide stopping power.

The seller will include receipts and manuals for custom parts with the sale.
