Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This all Henry Ford steel 1932 Ford roadster is an older custom build that has been with the seller for four years and is powered by a 289ci Ford V8 engine backed by a C4 automatic transmission. Features include hydraulic manual brakes, manual steering, a dropped chrome headlight bar, a four-piece hood, a tilt-out windshield, and a rumble seat. This black Ford with a black BopTop convertible top over a custom red leather interior is available now and comes with an additional set of red steel wheels with chrome hub caps and trim rings and tan convertible top, and a clear Massachusetts title in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

This all-steel 1932 Ford Roadster was modified in the 1960s by a custom shop in Massachusetts. The body was refinished in black, including the fenders. The seller states that there are spider cracks in the paint due to age and dent repair marks on the driver-side running board. Features include a chrome front spreader bar, a removed front bumper, a dropped chrome headlight bar, body-color headlight buckets with a sealed beam headlight upgrade, a four-piece hood, a cowl vent, and a tilt-out windshield. Additional features include rubber-covered running boards, a rumble seat, and a removed rear bumper. The seller will include a new fitted Sid Chavers BopTop folding black cloth convertible top with a glass rear window and a tan traditional 1960s era folding convertible top.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of new chrome Cragar wheels is wrapped in 185/80R15 Nexen radial tires in the front and 255/70R15 BFGoodrich radial tires in the rear.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

The bench seat, trim, door panels, and rumble seat area were reupholstered in red leather with pleated inserts and black piping within the last three years by Seamless Custom of New England. Features include black carpeting with diamond-patterned red floor mats, a floor-mounted automatic shifter with a red boot, and black seat belts. Additional features include a chrome steering column topped with a three-spoke billet aluminum steering wheel, a body-color steel dashboard, and a Bluetooth stereo. The vehicle battery was relocated and hidden inside in a red steel ice chest located in the rumble seat area.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

A 160-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage are mounted ahead of the driver. An 8K-rpm tachometer is mounted to the steering column. The odometer reads 74,145 miles, according to the seller. The true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 289ci Ford V8 engine backed by a C4 automatic transmission. Features include a polished Edlebrock finned aluminum valve covers, coated cast-iron exhaust manifolds, an aluminum Edlebrock intake, a four-barrel carburetor, an Edlebrock finned aluminum air cleaner, and a chrome fan and accessory pulleys. The seller states that carburetor maintenance work has been performed this year.

This Roadster has been upgraded with a chrome dropped I-beam front axle and a black-finished 9-inch Ford rear drive axle. A full-length dual exhaust exits at the rear. Braking is provided by hydraulic four-wheel drum brakes with finned aluminum Buick front drums. Additional photos showing the undercarriage are available in the carousel. The seller states that front axle and brake maintenance work has been completed this year.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The seller will include an additional set of red steel wheels with chrome hub caps and trim rings and a traditional tan 1960s-era folding convertible top.

Hi Mike, thank you for those kind words!

My hat's off to the builder and the owner for construction and maintenance of this beauty. I restored and modified a Deuce 5-window and a show level roadster, and I find this to be tastefully and beautifully done. I can't say enough good about this car. I would bid, but health issues say no to this one. Good luck with this auction to seller and winner. Thank you, Mike B.
