1962 Mercedes-Benz 300

This 1962 Mercedes-Benz 300 "Adenauer" was reportedly in California for most of its life and was previously repainted. It comes equipped with chrome bumpers and trim, the original interior with aftermarket air conditioning and woodgrain accents, a new Optima battery, and BFGoodrich tires. Power is supplied by a fuel-injected 3.0-liter inline-6 and transmitted through an automatic transmission. Refinished in black over a red leather interior, this rust-free W189 Mercedes-Benz is available now with the original yellow California license plate, an owner's manual, a tool kit, a spare tire, a jack, and a clear Florida title in the seller's name.

Mercedes-Benz produced 3,077 of the W189 model 300 between 1957 and 1962, with the vehicle sharing the engine, suspension, and chassis with the iconic 300SL "Gullwing." The exterior was repainted black several years ago, but there are cracks in the finish as shown in the gallery to the right. Features include chrome bumpers with over-riders, bright trim, a Mercedes 3-pointed star hood ornament, fender-mounted lights, a driver-side mirror, stone guards, and a single passenger-side exhaust outlet.

The slotted wheels have Mercedes-branded hub caps and come wrapped in BFGoodrich tires with black sidewall lettering.

According to the seller, the interior is original. It comes furnished with red leather seating consisting of a pair of front seats and a rear bench, red carpeting, red door panels, and a cream headliner. Woodgrain trim is located on the dashboard and the top of the door panels and is reported to be in excellent condition. The cabin is equipped with front vent windows, manual window cranks, a column-mounted automatic shifter, and a trunk-mounted aftermarket air conditioning unit. The seller reports the bottom of the driver's seat has been patched, the radio and speakers work but should be replaced, and the air conditioning is not blowing cold. Vehicle information is displayed on a 120-mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, and auxiliary readouts. The 5-digit mechanical odometer shows 43K miles, but the true mileage on the car is unknown.

Power from the fuel-injected 3.0-liter I6 engine is sent to the road through an automatic transmission and the rear wheels. Per the seller, a new Optima battery has been installed.
