OVERVIEW
This 1936 Ford Deluxe Roadster is one of 3,862 produced and is powered by a Ford flathead V8 backed by a manual transmission. Features include a folding convertible top, a tilting windshield, wind wings, a rear-mounted spare tire, and a rumble seat. This maroon Ford with a tan top over a brown vinyl interior is available now and comes with a boot cover, side curtains, and a clear Montana title.
EXTERIOR - FEATURES
The exterior was reportedly repainted in maroon lacquer with red pinstriping several years ago and shows very minor blisters and cracking from age, according to the seller. Features include chrome bumpers, dual headlights with body-color buckets, a chrome grille, a 4-piece hood, a tilting windshield with glass wind wings, chrome mirrors, a tan folding convertible top, a rumble seat, a rear-mounted spare tire with a color-matched cover, and dual taillights. The seller notes that all the lights are in working order.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of black steel wheels with V8-logo center caps and trim rings is wrapped in whitewall bias-ply tires.
INTERIOR - FEATURES
The bench seat, interior trim, and door panels are upholstered in brown vinyl. Features include a tan vinyl floor mat and a floor-mounted manual shifter. Additional features include a keyed steering wheel lock, an original AM radio with a speaker, a body-color steel dashboard with a simulated woodgrain fascia, and a brown 3-spoke banjo steering wheel. The seller notes that some seams on the base of the driver’s seat are coming apart.
INTERIOR - GAUGES
A 100-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, amperage, and oil pressure are located in a simulated woodgrain panel ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 85,674 miles but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown. The seller notes that all of the gauges are in working order.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a Ford flathead V8 engine backed by a manual transmission. Underhood features include a correct green engine block, an original intake with a two-barrel carburetor, a correct oil-bath air filter, a generator, and an original radiator. The seller states that a new fuel pump, carburetor, distributor, plugs, and ignition wires have been installed. In addition, an entire fuel system cleaning was completed.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Roadster is factory-equipped with a solid I-beam front axle and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by 4-wheel mechanical drums. Additional photos of the undercarriage can be found in the carousel to the right.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The seller will include a boot cover and side curtains with the sale.

@Roger – How well do the mechanical brakes work? Slop in the linkage or redone somewhere along the way? ...
The mechanical brakes are not a whole lot different than non power juice brakes. Now understand they are not quite as effective, but unless you are running 60 and someone pulls out in front of you, you will really not notice much difference. I have two 36s with mechanical brakes and two with juice. All the rods and linkages are tight and well greased.
@GairdnerB – WHAT IS ENG SIZE 12 VOLT WHAT WORK DONE ON RNG TRANS AND REAR END ALL LITES GAUGES WORK ing ? ...
The motor is 221 cubic inches. It is 6 volt which works well but is a fairly inexpensive swap. All gauges and lights are working. I can't speak for sure on the history of the drive train other than all of the upgrades that are mentioned above. The way it starts, runs and shifts I have to believe they are pretty fresh. This car came from an estate of a gentleman that had it for many many years and he passed away. It can sit for a couple of weeks and one pump hit the button and it is running. It does not smoke ever and sounds very crisp. Thanks, Monte
