EXTERIOR - FEATURES

The exterior was refinished in Colonial White in 2011 and recently received a ceramic coating. Features include chrome bumpers, a chrome grille, dual headlights, dual mirrors, bodyside fresh air inlets, a fender-mounted antenna, a new manual black cloth convertible top, a removable color-keyed hard top with a porthole, rear wheel skirts, dual taillights with reverse lights, and a continental kit with a color-keyed and stainless cover. The seller notes chips on the right front wheel well and a small area of peeling chrome on the rear bumper that can be seen in the photos in the carousel to the right.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of chrome Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels with three-bar center caps is wrapped in BFGoodrich Silvertown whitewall radial tires. The seller notes that the wheels and tires have fewer than 500 miles on them.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

The bench seat is upholstered in turquoise and white vinyl. Features include turquoise and white vinyl door panels with power windows, turquoise carpet with turquoise rubber floor mats, a floor-mounted automatic transmission shifter, a turquoise dashboard with a matching top pad, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, air conditioning, power steering, and power brakes.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

A 150-mph speedometer, a 5K-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. With 250 miles added during ownership, the odometer reads 15,890 miles but the true mileage on the vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a rebuilt 312ci V8 engine backed by an automatic transmission. According to the seller, the engine has 55K miles on it and the transmission was replaced by the previous owner in 2013 after it was damaged while the vehicle was being unloaded from a truck. Underhood features include finned aluminum valve covers with Thunderbird logos, a correct chrome air cleaner, and a chrome fan shroud. The seller notes that the original carburetor was rebuilt in 2022.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Thunderbird was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. A dual-exhaust system exits at the rear through the bumper. Braking is provided by four-wheel power drum brakes. The seller notes that a new gas tank, new fuel lines, and a new fuel pump were installed in 2022.
