OVERVIEW
This rust-free 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS is powered by a 305ci V8 crate engine backed by a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. Features include a power convertible top, SS emblems, power steering, aftermarket air conditioning, newer manual drum brakes, an AM/FM stereo, and an Ididit tilt steering column. Finished in red with a white top over a red vinyl interior, this Chevelle Malibu SS is available now and comes with a convertible boot cover, original steering wheel, and a clear Florida title in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR - FEATURES
The exterior is finished in factory red and features chrome bumpers, an aluminum grille with quad headlights, a white vinyl power convertible top, rocker trim, a power antenna, dual taillights with integrated reverse lights, and SS emblems. The seller states that there is slight bubbling on the driver- and passenger-side doors and the paint is in driver-quality condition. No dents are present, but scratches and other minor flaws can be found all around the vehicle.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of polished aluminum wheels is wrapped in Futura GLS Super Sport raised-white-letter radial tires.
INTERIOR - FEATURES
The front bucket seats, rear seat, trim, and door panels are upholstered in red vinyl. Features include red carpeting, a black center console with a four-speed manual transmission shifter, manual windows, power steering, manual brakes, aftermarket air conditioning, and an AM/FM stereo with kick panel speakers. Additional features include a red steel dashboard with a red vinyl top pad and an Ididit tilt steering column with a three-spoke aluminum steering wheel.
INTERIOR - GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer, clock, and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, temperature, and amperage are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 7,500 miles but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown. The seller states that the odometer was reset when the crate engine was installed under previous ownership. An aftermarket panel with gauges for the coolant temperature and oil pressure is mounted under the dashboard.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 305ci V8 crate engine backed by a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. Underhood features include chrome valve covers and a chrome air cleaner. A video of this vehicle being driven is available below.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Chevelle was factory-equipped with independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual drum brakes. A full-length dual-exhaust system exits at the rear. The seller states that new drum brakes were installed in February of 2022.

I have a video of me driving the car on the expressway the day before the auction started that I can send you. I used the car for months as my daily and it's been fine! As for rust, the only rust I've found on the car was the minor bubbling on the door panels. The old man told me he had treated it and it just needed to be removed. I lifted the carpet near that area and the floor boards were perfect. The rear seats are in excellent condition.
@raymond_huber – Thanks - any issues with it current driving? Any rust? Is the back seat in similar condition as the front buckets? ...

@aaarteaga001 – Hi Raymond, I don't have any documentation of the work done. I bought the car from an old man in Alabama. He told me him and his friends had passed the car between each other over the decades and the previous owner was the one that had the crate engine installed and didn't keep any documents. ...

@raymond_huber – Hi there - is there documentation around the crate engine that was installed by previous owner? Any other details you can provide on work that has been done/documented? ...

GM only made about 11,000 of these. I'd be surprised if half of them were still on the street!
