OVERVIEW
This one-family-owned 1977 Chevrolet Blazer Chalet 4x4 offers a single cab along with rear sleeping and sitting quarters for RV-style camping use. It was originally delivered to Derrow Chevrolet in Defiance, Ohio, and purchased by its first owner in November 1977, then restored later in life. Power comes from a 400ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Features include air conditioning, convertible sleeping quarters, a pop-up fiberglass roof, and a stove. Finished in burnt orange and cream with yellow accent striping over a Buckskin vinyl interior, this Blazer is now offered by the selling dealer with literature, an owner's manual, a build sheet, a window sticker, and a clear Michigan title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This 1977 Blazer Chalet, serial number 1221, was restored in 2018 and 2021. The exterior motif consists of two-tone burnt orange and cream with complementary accent striping. The rear is capped with a permanent fiberglass camper with a pop-up roof. Accents include chrome bumpers, a front-mounted spare tire, and stainless mirror caps. The selling dealer states that the exterior finishes are smooth, glossy, and unmarred.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Steel 15-inch wheels with polished trim rings are wrapped in Cooper Discoverer AT3 raised-white-letter tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The Cheyenne-grade interior is fitted with Buckskin vinyl captain’s chairs in the cab, burnt orange carpeting, and simulated woodgrain-trimmed door panels with map pockets. Features include a ComforTilt steering wheel, cruise control, and an AM/FM radio. The camper area has modular seats and bunk beds which can be configured to allow seating for four or sleeping for two. Features include a dinette table, stainless steel sink, stove, sliding windows, air conditioning, and a heater. The pop-up roof provides over six feet of headroom when expanded.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation is set within a woodgrain bezel and includes a 100-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 49K miles, which is believed by the selling dealer to be original, but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 400ci V8 was rated at 265 horsepower when new. Power is fed to all four wheels via a column-shifted Turbo-Hydramatic three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Stopping power comes from power-assisted discs up front and drums in the rear.
