OVERVIEW
This 1963 ½ Ford Galaxie 500 XL was restored in 1991 and is equipped with the combination of its reportedly original 390ci V8 and Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission, both of which have been rebuilt. Features include power steering, power brakes with front discs, air conditioning, a new American Autowire harness, new shocks, and new BFGoodrich tires. Refinished in Ming Green over a turquoise vinyl interior, this Galaxie 500 XL is available now and comes from the selling dealer with maintenance receipts, an owner's manual, a shop manual, a parts catalog, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR - FEATURES
Originally finished in Corinthian White, the body was restored and refinished in Ming Green in 1991. Features include chrome bumpers, an aluminum grille, quad headlights, dual mirrors, dual taillights, and a rear-mounted fuel door.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of steel wheels finished in Ming Green with year-correct dog dish hub caps is wrapped with new BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.
INTERIOR - FEATURES
The front bucket seats, rear seat, trim, and door panels are upholstered in turquoise vinyl. Features include turquoise carpet, turquoise carpeted floor mats, a center console with an automatic transmission shifter, power steering, power brakes, a metallic Ming Green steel dashboard, air conditioning, and an AM radio. The selling dealer states that a new American Autowire wiring harness has been installed.
INTERIOR - GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer, clock, and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature are mounted ahead of the driver. According to the selling dealer, the fuel gauge was replaced and all instrumentation is working properly. The odometer was reset to zero when the drivetrain was rebuilt and currently reads 23,812 miles but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The seller states the original 390ci V8 and original Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission have been rebuilt. Underhood features include chrome valve covers, a body-color air cleaner, and an updated air conditioning compressor. A video of the car being road-tested can be seen below.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Galaxie is equipped with an independent front suspension and a nine-inch rear drive axle with a 3.00:1 gear ratio. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. Dual exhaust outlets turn down at the rear. The selling dealer notes that new shocks have been installed. Additional photos of the undercarriage can be found in the carousel to the right.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The selling dealer will include maintenance receipts, an owner's manual, a shop manual, and a parts catalog with the sale.

We would love to find this Galaxie a new home today, it's a beautiful car that looks as good in person as the it does in the photos! We took it to a couple local car shows recently and took home some hardware!

@lglcbj2 – how much was the engine bored ...
According to the paperwork received with the car it was bored .30 over and rebuilt using Ford parts. There is and American Autowire box that is filled with original electrical components and many receipts covering maintenance from the past couple decades.
