This 1972 Dodge D100 stepside pickup offers conveniences including air conditioning, a Kenwood audio system, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, power steering, and power disc brakes. It is powered by a Holley-carbureted 318ci V8 paired with a 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission and recently received mechanical work to the radiator, fuel pump, and timing chain. Finished in Blue Metallic over a blue cloth interior, this third-generation D100 is now offered with an owner’s manual and a clear Florida title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This D100 was produced in the first year of the D-Series’ third generation. It has a stepside, short-wheelbase body configuration and is finished in Blue Metallic. The cargo bed is trimmed in wood panels on its exterior as well as its interior planks, all of which have recently been recoated with varnish. Exterior features include chrome bumpers, bodyside moldings, chrome sideview mirrors, a sliding rear window. The seller notes that there is some corrosion on the lower body panels as shown in the photos.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Chrome-finished 15-inch smoothie wheels are wrapped in mixed Hankook Ventus and Cooper Cobra tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior of the cab is fitted with a blue cloth bench seat, a color-matched dash, custom wood door panels, and brown carpeting. Amenities include a wood-rimmed steering wheel, tinted windows, air conditioning, and a modern Kenwood Excelon AM/FM/CD audio system with a backup camera.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation is derived from a 100-mph speedometer and accompanying factory gauges. An aftermarket Bosch fuel gauge and a three-gauge pod showing coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure are mounted beneath the dash. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 51K miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 318ci V8 is fed by a Holley four-barrel carburetor and received recent service that included replacement of the radiator, timing chain, fuel pump. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a column-shifted 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. The seller notes that there is a transmission fluid leak.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel. Stopping comes from power disc brakes, and the brake pads and shock absorbers have been replaced under the seller’s ownership. Steering is power-assisted.
