Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1968 Dodge Super Bee is a 20-year-old restoration powered by a rebuilt and blueprinted 440ci Magnum V8 engine connected to two four-barrel carburetors and a four-speed manual transmission. Features include power steering, power disc brakes, a functional Ramcharger intake, hood scoops, a Hurst pistol grip shifter, a digital AM/FM/CD player, and LED headlights. Refinished in yellow over a black vinyl interior, this Super Bee is available now and comes from the selling dealer with records, uninstalled hoses, and a clear Ohio title.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

During the restoration process completed under previous ownership, the body was refinished in yellow with black Super Bee tail striping. Features include chrome bumpers, a black grille, quad LED headlights, functional black hood scoops, wheel opening trim, a manual remote driver-side mirror, smooth rear quarter seams and end caps, and a rear Super Bee emblem.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch chrome Magnum wheels is wrapped in staggered-width BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

The front bench seat, rear seat, rear trim, and door panels are upholstered in black vinyl. Features include black carpet with black carpeted floor mats and a Super Bee logo, yellow interior sheet metal, and a Hurst pistol grip manual transmission shifter. Additional features include power steering and brakes, manual windows, a Sony AM/FM/CD stereo with a hideaway screen, and a black dashboard with a black top pad.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

A Classic Instruments gauge cluster that includes a 140-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and readouts for the fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage is mounted ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 14,500 miles but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a rebuilt and blueprinted GTX-sourced 440ci Magnum V8 engine with two four-barrel carburetors and a mild camshaft. The reported output is approximately 500 horsepower and is backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Underhood features include a custom dual four-barrel air cleaner with a Ramcharger intake assembly, an aluminum intake, and aluminum valve covers.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Super Bee was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. New floor panels, trunk panels, and subframe connectors were installed during the restoration. Power disc brakes help bring the car to a stop; the front discs are from a Dodge and the rear discs are from a Ford Crown Victoria. The full-length dual-exhaust system has been equipped with electric cut-outs. Additional photos of the underbody can be seen in the carousel to the right.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

A full walk-around video can be seen below. Records and uninstalled hoses will be included with the sale of the vehicle.

@Bama18 – Is this an Ohio car whole life? If not what other states? Is there any rust in quarter panels or anywhere else on the car? Saying ready to drive across USA, sure it will make 800-1,000 mile trip? Does the engine and all mechanical systems have any issues? ...

I was able to discuss with the previous owner. He bought it locally as an original Dayton Ohio owner original car in need of restoration. He did replace all panels with any rust with new panels including the floors, trunk pan, and quarters. He also does have the original SuperBee bulge hood that is available to go with the car as he put the proper ram air RamCharger hood on the car that is on it now due to personal preference (I totally agree) along with the other mentioned upgrades I listed earlier in the comments below to make this the ultimate SuperBee!!!
