OVERVIEW
This Shelby CSX7000-series 289 FIA Cobra is number 16 of 50 total units that were produced by Shelby American in Las Vegas, Nevada as part of a 50th-anniversary model run commemorating the original 1964 small-block Cobra. It has traveled just 115 miles since assembly and is powered by an all-aluminum Shelby 289ci V8 bored and stroked to 363ci paired with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Finished in Viking Blue with red striping over a black leather interior, this limited-production Shelby Cobra continuation model is now offered by the selling dealer with build documentation, a Manufacturer Statement of Origin (MSO), and a Shelby-branded car cover.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The hand-laid fiberglass body is coated in Viking Blue with red team striping on the nose. Additional exterior features include a hood scoop, bright headlight rings, a driver-side mirror, a roll hoop behind the driver seat, Arctic White roundels showing the number 16, 50th Anniversary billet badging on the vented front fenders, and side-exit exhaust pipes.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Aluminum Halibrand-style 15-inch wheels with spinner caps are wrapped in 235/60 front and 295/50 rear Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cockpit is equipped with dual black leather buckets, matched to the dash face, carpeting, and FIA Cobra-branded floor mats. Amenities include lap belts, door map pockets, a detachable wood-rimmed steering wheel with an FIA Cobra emblem, sun visors, and a dash plaque identifying this vehicle as CSX7965, otherwise known as unit number 16 from the 50-unit production run.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
The Stewart Warner instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, an 8K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the oil pressure, coolant temperature, oil temperature, and fuel level. The mechanical odometer reads 115 miles, reflective of the mileage accrued since this car was assembled.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The Shelby all-aluminum 289ci V8 block has been bored and stroked to displace 363ci. Features include fuel injection with simulated velocity stacks and an aluminum radiator. The engine plate contains the Shelby CSX identification number. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a Salisbury limited-slip differential with 3.73 gears.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The chassis uses a three-inch-diameter steel frame and the front and rear suspensions are independent. Stopping power comes from dual-piston Shelby-branded calipers. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the carousel to the right.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The sale includes build documentation, a 50th Anniversary car cover, and a Shelby American Manufacturer Statement of Origin (MSO).
