This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is finished in Fathom Green over a green vinyl interior and is powered by a matching-numbers L78 396ci V8 paired with an M22 4-speed manual transmission. The car has had one previous repaint, but it's all-original outside of that with just over 83k original miles. Equipment includes rally gauges, bucket seats, center console, AM/FM radio, power steering & brakes, 12 bolt rear end, and heavy-duty shocks & springs. Documented with an inspection report from Ward Gappa of Quality Muscle Car Restorations, this 1969 Chevelle SS is now offered for sale on a clean Arizona title.
The car is finished in its original color of Fathom Green with white SS side stripes and was repainted around 1995. The car is equipped with "SS" badges on the front grille, tail panel, and fenders. All chrome and trim are in good condition, with no dents, pitting, or flaking, while the glass is in good condition as well. Additional exterior features include a chrome side-view mirror on the driver's door, dual headlights, and dual exhaust with polished tips.
Factory original 14” 5-spoke Rallye wheels contain the correct "AO" factory code and are fitted to Goodyear Eagle ST raised-white-letter tires on all four corners. The car was equipped from the factory with the F40 suspension package for improved handling, consisting of larger springs front and rear with heavy-duty shocks. Power-assisted discs provide braking.
The car retains its factory original interior equipped with bucket seats upholstered in green vinyl, with matching door panels, carpet, and dash pad. The center console is mounted between the front seats and houses the polished shifter for the 4-speed transmission, surrounded by a silver trim plate. Additional interior features include the factory original AM/FM radio with kick panel speakers, a 3-spoke steering wheel, and manual crank windows. The trunk is lined in the correct speckle finish with an original style trunk mat, spare tire with cover, and original bumper jack.
Equipped with the Rallye Gauge package, instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. An analog clock is located in the center of the instrument cluster, while the five-digit odometer shows 83k miles, which original to the car.
The car is powered by its original L78 396ci V8 rated at 375 horsepower and retains many of its original components. Having undergone an inspection for authenticity by Ward Gappa of Quality Muscle Car Restorations, it was determined that the car retains the engine block, intake manifold, and carbuertor. In addition, the cowl tag is original to the car, and photos are available in the gallery. Power is sent to the rear wheels through the car’s original Muncie M22 Rock Crusher 4-speed manual transmission and original12-bolt rear end with a 3.73 positraction differential.
Additional photos showing the underside are available in the gallery.
The sale includes car show display materials, an original brochure, an authenticity inspection report, and service records.
