This 1979 Chevrolet C30 Bonanza is finished in two-tone Cordova Brown and Santa Fe Tan over a tan cloth interior and is powered by a 454ci V8 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. Originally sold new by Bud Clary Chevrolet in Longview, Washington, the truck had remained with its prior owner for approximately 30 years before being acquired by the seller. Equipment includes the Bonanza “B” package, Scottsdale Package, camper mirrors, heavy-duty power brakes, air conditioning, and an auxiliary fuel tank. Located in Cave Creek, Arizona, this C/K is offered with a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.
The truck retains the original two-tone color combination of Cordova Brown with Santa Fe Tan. The upper dark brown has been refinished but the tan and lower dark brown paint is original to the truck. The truck was ordered with Camper Special package which features an 8.5' bed with special tie-downs designed to accommodate slide-in campers and larger side mirrors. The truck is also equipped with the Bonanza trim, which was a year-end promotional special that added options like chrome grille and badges on the fender. Additional features include a sliding rear window, in-bed cargo lamp, dual fuel tanks, spray-in bed liner, and towing package.
Factory 16.5” steel wheels are finished in white with polished center caps complete with bowtie emblems. Firestone Transforce tires HT tires measuring 9.5R16.5 are fitted on all four corners. The suspension features heavy-duty shocks and springs with a factory front stabilizer bar, while an aftermarket one has been added to the rear. The braking system features heavy-duty discs with hydra-boost power assist.
The interior features a bench seat upholstered in tan cloth with vinly sides, the carpet, door panels, and dash are all finished in tan too match. A brushed aluminum trim plate is mounted on the passenger side of the dash with Bonanza badging and surrounds the vents for the functioning air conditioning. The factory AM radio has been upgraded, but housed in the factory location while additional speakers were added in the doors. Additional features include a trailer brake control mounted underneath the dash, power steering, cruise control, and a sliding rear window.
The truck features deluxe instrumentation which includes a 100-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit odometer reads 29k miles but the true mileage is 129k. Approximately 13k miles have been added since the drivetrain was rebuilt according to the seller.
The 454ci big-block V8 original to the truck and equipped with performance upgrades such as long tube headers and 3" dual exhaust. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a column-shifted 3-speed automatic transmission and 3.73 gears at the rear axle.
Additional photos showing the underside are provided in the gallery.
The sale includes the truck’s original build sheet, SPID sticker, an owner’s manual, maintenance schedule, and documentation regarding the replacement 454 V8 engine.
