OVERVIEW
This 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT convertible is #1,303 of a 2,300-unit production run and has been driven 26K miles since new. It is propelled by a performance-upgraded 4.6-liter V8 paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip rear axle. Special Shelby GT equipment was installed at the company’s Las Vegas facility and includes a lowered suspension, a strut tower brace, a cold-air intake, an X-pipe exhaust, a Hurst short-throw shift lever, and more. Finished in Vista Blue with silver accent stripes and a black power-retractable top over a black leather interior, this fifth-generation Mustang is now offered with a Shelby certificate of authenticity, Ford and Shelby window stickers, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear Arizona title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This S197-series Mustang started as a GT convertible and was subsequently customized by Shelby Automobiles, Inc. in Las Vegas, Nevada. There, it was outfitted with cosmetic, performance, and mechanical upgrades before being sold to its first owner. The exterior is coated in Vista Blue with silver accent striping and capped by a black power-retractable top. Exterior features include a billet grille, HID headlights, fog lamps, a hood scoop, hood retention pins, Shelby GT decals, a styling bar, and a stainless steel dual-exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Polished aluminum 18-inch five-spoke wheels are wrapped in 235/50 Pirelli P Zero Nero tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cockpit is equipped with power-adjustable bucket seats up front and a bench in the rear, color-matched to the door panels, dash, carpeting, and Shelby-specific floor mats. The dash displays a Shelby Automobiles aluminum panel designating this as vehicle #1303 in the Shelby GT series. Equipment includes a Hurst short-throw shifter, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, a Shaker 500 AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system, air conditioning, and cruise control.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 145-mph speedometer, an 8K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges that show the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The digital odometer reads 26K miles, which is in line with the mileage shown on the CARFAX report.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 4.6-liter Modular V8 has a 90-mm cold air intake and a performance X-pipe exhaust system, resulting in ratings of 319 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a console-shifted five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip rear differential with 3.55:1 gearing.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Steering is power-assisted. Stopping power comes from power-assisted disc brakes. Shelby suspension add-ons include lowering springs, front and rear dampers, front and rear sway bars, and a strut tower brace. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the carousel to the right.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The CARFAX report identifies this as an accident- and damage-free vehicle. There is an open manufacturer safety recall from 2015 for the driver airbag inflator replacement. The vehicle passed an Arizona emissions inspection in January of 2022. The sale includes a Shelby certificate of authenticity and a window sticker showing an original retail price of $36,495 in addition to documentation from Shelby outlining an additional $11,800 in upgrades.
