OVERVIEW
This 28-year-owned 1963 Pontiac LeMans convertible is powered by a rebuilt 326ci V8 that has been bored to 350ci and upgraded with a COMP Cams camshaft, a tri-power intake, and JE pistons. Torque is sent to the rear end via a rebuilt two-speed automatic transmission. Features include chrome wheels and bucket seats. Finished in red with a white retractable top over a white vinyl interior, this first-generation LeMans is now offered with an owner’s manual, engine build documentation, a parts guide, uninstalled air conditioning system parts, and a clear Illinois title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The red exterior is capped off with a power-retractable white top. The exterior is reportedly straight and rust-free. Features include quad headlights, a split front grille, front fender accents, a driver-side mirror, a vinyl convertible boot, and dual exhaust outlets.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Chrome five-spoke wheels with knock-off center caps are wrapped in blackwall tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is fitted with dual white vinyl buckets up front and a bench in the rear, color-keyed door panels, and a contrasting black dash pad and carpeting. Amenities include lap belts, a push-button radio, a heater, and LeMans-branded bright dash trim.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation encompasses a 120-mph speedometer flanked by gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. Two additional aftermarket readouts are installed below the dash. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 75K miles, which the seller states is accurate.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 326ci V8 has accrued fewer than 2K miles since a full rebuild that involved it being bored to 350ci. It uses pistons from JE Pistons with a 3.885 bore for 10.5:1 compression, a COMP Cams camshaft, and a tri-power manifold and carburetors. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a rebuilt two-speed automatic transmission. The seller states that AC components have been removed and the transmission has a leak.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Steering is power-assisted. The seller notes that the brakes are in need of adjustment.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The sale includes engine rebuild documentation, an owner’s manual, a parts guide, and uninstalled air conditioning components.
