This 1997 Dodge Viper GTS is finished in Blue Pearl with white racing stripes over a black leather interior. The car was sold new in Pennsylvania and retained for three years by the original owner until it was acquired by the second owner, who retained it for 18 years before being purchased by the seller in 2017. Powered by an 8.0-liter V10 engine, power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. Features include air-conditioning, 17" polished wheels, remote locking, and power windows and locks. Located in Colombia, South Carolina, this Viper GTS is now offered by the selling dealer on a clean South Carolina title.
Finished in Blue Pearl, white racing stripes run the length of the car. The car retains the majority of its original paint, CARFAX reports an accident in November of 1999 where the damage occurred to the right side of the car. The seller notes the damage was contained to the passenger side door and edge of the hood, but the repairs were done properly and there are no indications of refinishing. The car features a “double bubble” roof with a raised designed to allow for extra headroom inside. Other exterior features include functional vents on the front fenders and hood, a polished gas cap, projector xenon headlights, and halogen fog lights.
17-inch polished factory wheels are featured on all four corners with Michelin Pilot SX tires measuring 275/40 on the front and 335/35 on the rear. Braking is handled by disc brakes all around with black "Viper" branded calipers.
The interior features black leather bucket seats with raised bolsters and perforated center sections. The door panels, carpets, and dash are all in finished black as well. The car is equipped with air conditioning that has been recently serviced and operates with no issue. The car retains its factory Alpine radio with a CD player and door-mounted speakers. The driver's door latch actuator was replaced and the driver's window contacts’ switch was repaired.
Behind the black factory steering wheel sits a 200-mph speedometer and 7k rpm tachometer while ancillary gauges mounted on top of the dash provide readouts for engine temperature, oil pressure, fuel, and voltage. The six-digit analog odometer shows approximately 4500 miles, which is accurate and corresponds with mileage logs on the CARFAX.
Under the hood sits the 8.0-liter V10 engine that produced 450 horsepower and 490 ft/lbs of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a T56 6-speed manual transmission. Recent service work includes an oil change, cooling system flush, and differential servicing.
Included in the sale are the original owner's manual and service manual.

I had to lie flat on my back to look at the underside of the front spoiler to see any wear at all. The original versions of the Viper were notoriously uncomfortable but this later version is much better. It still has a warning on the door sill about the heat as the exhaust pipe runs through this wide sill. I have never been burned but if you like to wear shorts you probably still need to be careful getting out. Please feel free to ask me any questions and good luck with the bidding!
For those of you who have always wanted a Viper this may be the car for you. It is as close to new as you can find in a 23 year old car. The odometer now has 4502 miles after driving it to take the photos. The performance from the Lamborghini designed V-10 is impressive even in comparison to later supercars. The Viper Blue with the white racing stripes is the color to have in my opinion and the paint is exceptional as is the interior. The seat bolsters look almost new.
