34k-Mile 1974 CHEVROLET C30 TOW TRUCK

OVERVIEW

This 1974 Chevrolet C30 dually tow truck has covered 34K miles since new and derives torque from a big-block 454ci V8 mated to a manual transmission. Its chassis is reinforced with a Camper Special heavy-duty suspension, and additional equipment includes aluminum running boards, auxiliary lighting, and a Holmes 440 wrecker setup with an articulating hook arm. Included in the sale are a torch set, chains, straps, and additional tow equipment. Finished in orange with a white roof over an original saddle vinyl interior, this C30 pickup is now offered with the aforementioned items and a clear Arizona title in the seller’s name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

This C30 pickup from Chevrolet’s Rounded Line generation was configured in its early days with Holmes 440 wrecker equipment and is painted orange with earth tone accent striping. Towing equipment consists of a power take-off (PTO) setup with a winch and an articulating hook arm, and exterior attributes include an eggcrate grille, auxiliary front lighting, cab clearance lights, Camper Special badging, diamond-plate running boards, tow mirrors, and rear mud flaps. The seller notes that there is damage to the passenger front fender, and a small rust bubble at the base of a fender.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Steel 16-inch wheels with Bowtie-branded polished caps up front and a dual-axle setup in the rear are wrapped in newer Firestone tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The original upholstery is a saddle and brown two-tone vinyl bench seat, matched to the door panels and upper dash pad. The dash is accented in woodgrain veneer, and features include a heater, a push-button AM radio, a folding seatback, and sliding rear window. The driver side of the seat shows some upholstery wear consistent with age as shown in the photos.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation is presented through a 100-mph speedometer, a 5K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for voltage, fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 34K miles, which the seller states is actual.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The 454ci big-block V8 reportedly runs well, has been recently serviced, and is free of smoke or leaks. Torque is fed to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted manual transmission.

UNDERCARRIAGE
