Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1955 Packard 400 two-door hardtop is a garage-kept coupe with whitewall tires, chrome brightwork, and rear fender skirts. It is powered by a 352ci OHV V8 paired with an Ultramatic two-speed automatic transmission. Finished in two-tone red and white over a black red, and cream vinyl interior, this Packard is now offered on behalf of an estate with a clear Florida title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

This 400 two-door hardtop was built by the Studebaker-Packard Corporation and comes finished in two-tone red and white. It has been garage-kept and features chrome brightwork, a hood ornament, anodized gold emblems, dual side mirrors, wheel skirts, and dual exhaust outlets that exit from the rear bumper.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Steel 15-inch wheels with polished covers are wrapped in whitewall tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is fitted with dual bench seats upholstered in black, red, and cream vinyl and protected by plastic covers. The door panels are two-tone red and white. Amenities include power windows, a clock, a push-button AM radio, floor mats, and aluminum door sill plates.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation is installed within a bright bezel and includes a central 120-mph speedometer accompanied by gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 76K miles, although the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Was this driven on a "regular" basis, or has it been sitting for awhile?
