OVERVIEW
This 1951 Hudson Commodore 8 is reportedly a three-owner car that comes equipped with chrome bumpers and trim, window vent visors, new whitewall tires, and a push-button AM radio. The 255ci inline-eight under the hood was recently serviced and sends power to the road through a General Motors Hydra-Matic automatic transmission and the rear wheels. Finished in dark blue over a black vinyl and gray fabric interior, this garage-kept Hudson is located in California and comes with records, wiring diagrams, shop and owner's manuals, and a clear California title in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR - FEATURES
The dark blue exterior features chrome bumpers with guards, a hood ornament, a two-panel windshield, a driver-side spotlight, window vent visors, door handle and fuel door scratch guards, and rear fender skirts. Scratches in the paint can be seen in the gallery to the right.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of red wheels with full covers and new whitewall tires connect this Hudson to the road.
INTERIOR - FEATURES
The cabin is furnished with two rows of black vinyl and gray cloth bench seats, matching door panels, and black carpeting. Bright accents highlight the glossy black dashboard. Equipment includes manual vent window and window cranks, a column-mounted automatic shifter, a push-button AM radio, and a locking glove compartment with a "Commodore 8" trim plate. The carpeted trunk contains a tire iron and a spare wheel with a whitewall tire. Some of the trim for the driver's door and part of the horn half-ring is missing.
INTERIOR - GAUGES
Instrumentation consists of a gear selection indicator, a 110-mph speedometer, an analog clock, fuel level and coolant temperature gauges, and warning lights for the oil pressure and amps. The odometer indicates 60,185 miles, but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
According to the seller, the 255ci inline-eight was recently serviced. It comes connected to a General Motors Hydra-Matic automatic transmission and routes power to the rear wheels.
