OVERVIEW
This 1966 Volkswagen Type 2 bus is equipped with camper-style furnishings including a table, cabinetry, a sink, shelving, and modular storage compartments. It is powered by a 1,500cc flat-four engine paired with a four-speed manual transaxle and recently received a tune-up and newer tires. It spent most of its life in Brazil until being imported to the United States within the past year. Refinished in two-tone green and white over a multicolor leather and cloth interior with woodgrain furnishings, this Type 2 is now offered with service records and a clear Florida title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This Type 2 bus was initially manufactured for the German market and was later reconfigured as a camper. It received a repaint in two-tone green and white within the last 10 years. Features include a front-mounted spare tire, bright headlight rings, a split windshield, dual side mirrors, fold-out crank-adjustable rear side windows, and white bumpers. The passenger side has barn-style doors which open to the rear passenger compartment along with a retractable awning.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
White 14-inch steel wheels with VW-branded chrome center caps are wrapped in newer Pirelli tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is fitted with worn multicolor leather and plaid upholstery up front that has been covered with a blanket. The headliner, door panels, and other walls are covered in woodgrain veneer. Camp-style amenities such as retractable tables, cabinetry, drawers, a stainless steel sink basin, laminate countertops, and bench seating with cushions are located in the rear of the vehicle.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes an 80-mph VDO speedometer along with a fuel gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 69,316 miles, although the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The rear-mounted 1,500cc flat-four has received a tune-up in recent months. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted four-speed manual transaxle.
