Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This two-owner 1963 Pontiac Bonneville convertible is powered by a reportedly numbers-matching 389ci V8 engine that has been upgraded with a tri-power intake and carburetors. Features include a Hydra-Matic three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, a power top, and an AM/FM radio. Refinished in Grenadier Red with a white convertible top over a red and maroon vinyl interior, this Bonneville is available now and comes from the selling dealer with the original title; an owner’s manual; photos; restoration receipts and documentation; the uninstalled original convertible top boot, intake manifold, and air cleaner; and a clear Missouri title.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

The exterior was refinished in the original color of Grenadier Red (code 923) approximately eight years ago. During the exterior restoration, the body was stripped and the chrome was removed. Features include chrome bumpers, a chrome split grille, a driver-side mirror, a power white convertible top, rocker moldings, rear body trim, and dual exhaust outlets. The selling dealer states that the chrome shows minor pitting on the rear bumper.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 14-inch steel wheels with year-correct full Pontiac hub caps is wrapped in Remington Cushion-Aire Poly-4 bias-ply whitewall tires.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

The reportedly original interior consists of front bucket seats upholstered in red and maroon vinyl and a matching rear seat, red trim, and maroon door panels. Features include red carpeting, Pontiac-branded red vinyl floor mats, a red vinyl convertible boot, manual windows, power steering and brakes, a center console with an automatic shifter, a correct factory AM/FM radio, and woodgrain inserts.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer, clock, and gauges for the fuel level and battery voltage are mounted ahead of the driver. An original Pontiac vacuum gauge is mounted at the front of the center console under the radio. The odometer reads 23K miles. The true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a reportedly numbers-matching 389ci V8 engine that has been upgraded with a tri-power intake and carburetors. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Hydra-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. Features include chrome valve covers, chrome air cleaners, light blue engine block and intake paint, cast iron exhaust manifolds, and a battery cable quick disconnect.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Bonneville was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power four-wheel drum brakes. Additional photos of the undercarriage can be seen in the carousel to the right.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The selling dealer will include the original title; the owner’s manual; photos; restoration receipts and documentation; and the uninstalled original convertible top boot, intake manifold, and air cleaner with the sale.
