OVERVIEW
This Canadian-market 2005 Porsche Boxster convertible has been driven 15K miles since new and is powered by an M97 2.7-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Following long-term garage-kept ownership in Alberta, it was sold on AutoHunter in August 2021 and imported to Texas where it has remained under the seller’s ownership since then. Features include an active rear spoiler, Michelin tires, and heated seating. Finished in Carmon Red Metallic with a black power-retractable top over a Sand Beige interior, this 987-series Boxster is now offered with service records, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear Texas title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The body is coated in Carmon Red Metallic and features a black cloth power-retractable roof. 3M paint protection film covers the front end, mirror caps, windshield frame, and the areas below the doorjambs and in front of the rear wheels. Exterior features include bi-xenon headlamps, body-color roll hoop backings, an active rear spoiler, and a polished center-exit exhaust outlet.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Aluminum 17-inch wheels are wrapped in staggered-width Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin is fitted with Sand Beige heated leather bucket seats, matched to the door panels, dash, and carpeting. Amenities include Porsche crest embroidery on the headrests, an AM/FM/CD audio system, auto-dimming mirrors, automatic climate control, power windows, and cruise control.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation is centered around an 8K-rpm tachometer and includes a 280-km/h speedometer along with auxiliary gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer reads 15,323 miles (24,660 kilometers), which is in line with the mileage shown on the CARFAX report.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The mid-mounted M97 2.7-liter flat-six was rated at 236 horsepower and 199 lb-ft of torque when new and has received an oil change and inspection under current ownership. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Stopping power comes from anti-lock disc brakes.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The CARFAX report starts in June 2005 and shows the car’s accident- and damage-free history. The sale includes service records from current and prior ownership.

@oneprw – Anxious to see a responsible from the seller regarding the IMS bearing and if it has been replaced. My understanding is low mileage cars are particularly susceptible to an IMS failure that can be catastrophic. Thank you. ...
I went to my service center and asked about the IMS and here is what I found out. The answer is no, the IMS bearing has not been replaced. My car has shown no symptoms of any trouble that would warrant replacing the IMS. The year model of 2005 had two motors, the M96 and the M97. Mine has the M97. The M96 was the motor that the IMS failure occured in most. That being said, it still only happened 8-9% of the time in the M96 motor That is a small percentage to go in and replace the IMS without any signs of trouble. My mechanic said since I have the M97 motor, it's not something to worry about.
