1979 CHEVROLET C10

OVERVIEW

This 1979 Chevrolet C10 is a reportedly award-winning show truck that underwent a frame-off restoration and roadster conversion in the early 2000s. It comes equipped with a custom removable hardtop, a color-matched tonneau cover, a fold-forward cowl hood, chrome American Racing wheels with new Continental tires, and C4 Corvette taillights. Power is supplied by a ZZ430 350ci V8 crate engine paired with a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a Pioneer audio system, a tilt steering column, and power windows. Finished in Sunburst Gold Metallic over a gray cloth interior with a center console, this third-generation C10 is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear Minnesota title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

This C10 pickup from Chevrolet’s Rounded Line era underwent restoration in the early 2000s when it was recoated in Sunburst Gold Metallic with color-keyed accents for the headlight bezels, a narrowed front bumper, and a rear roll pan. A forward-tilting cowl hood, a 1987 Suburban front grille assembly, and a custom removable hardtop are fitted. Additional features include a billet grille, a cowl induction-style hood, shaved door handles and mirrors, a sliding rear window, a color-matched A.R.E. tonneau cover, quad C4 Corvette taillights, dual Flowmaster mufflers, and a pair of round exhaust outlets. The removable top can be stowed inside the cargo bed on a custom retractable platform when not in use.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

20" chrome American Racing wheels are wrapped in new low-profile Continental tires measuring 255/35 in front and 295/30 in the rear.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cab is fitted with late-model gray cloth bucket seats, split by a fold-down center console and matched to the door panels, dash, carpeting, and floor mats. Features include a Pioneer AM/FM/CD radio, Kicker speakers, a Grant steering wheel, a tilt-adjustable column, and power windows.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer supplemented by auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 7,123 miles, although the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The ZZ430 350ci V8 crate engine has been upgraded with Hooker headers. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted TH400 three-speed automatic transmission.

UNDERCARRIAGE

The suspension has been lowered six inches up front and four inches in the rear. Steering is power-assisted. Power disc brakes up front and drums in the rear help bring this truck to a stop.
