LS-POWERED 1981 PONTIAC FIREBIRD TRANS AM

OVERVIEW

This 1981 Pontiac Trans Am is a frame-off restoration powered by an upgraded General Motors 6.0-liter V8 engine backed by a rebuilt automatic overdrive transmission. Features include power windows, locks, and steering; power brakes with front discs; air conditioning; new suspension hardware; new Cooper tires; and removable T-top panels. Refinished in two-tone metallic silver and grey over a silver vinyl interior, this Trans Am is available now and comes with a build sheet and a clear New York title.

EXTERIOR  - FEATURES

The exterior of this Trans Am was styled after the 10th Anniversary Limited Edition Trans Am and refinished in metallic silver and metallic charcoal. Features include color-keyed bumpers, red and black accent stripes, a tri-tone Firebird hood graphic, fender flares, removable T-top roof panels, and a rear spoiler. EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of new aluminum Pontiac snowflake-style wheels is wrapped in new Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

The new front bucket seats and matching rear seat trim and door panels are upholstered in silver vinyl. Features include power steering, brakes, and windows; tilt steering; air conditioning; and a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

A set of white-faced AutoMeter gauges, including a 160-mph speedometer, a 10K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage, are mounted ahead of the driver. According to the seller,1,010 miles have been accrued since the restoration was completed. True chassis mileage is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is supplied by an upgraded General Motors 6.0-liter V8 and backed by a rebuilt automatic overdrive transmission. Underhood features include a custom intake cover with a Firebird decal and a polished aluminum air intake tube.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Trans Am was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power front disc brakes and rear drums. New suspension hardware and new brakes and brake lines have been installed. A full-length Flowmaster dual exhaust system exits at the rear. ADDITIONAL FEATURES

The CARFAX report starts in October 1982 and shows one minor accident in December 2008. The seller will include an original build sheet with the sale.
