OVERVIEW
This restored 1973 Datsun 240Z is powered by a 2.4-liter inline-six backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Features include power brakes, rack-and-pinion steering, a RetroSound AM/FM stereo, new upholstery, and new weatherstripping. Finished in metallic silver over a black vinyl interior, this 240Z is available now and comes from the selling dealer with the original owner’s manuals, several uninstalled original and aftermarket parts listed below, and a clear Virginia title.
EXTERIOR - FEATURES
The exterior has been refinished in metallic silver. Features include chrome bumpers with impact strips and bumper guards, a forward-tilting hood, a driver-side mirror, LED lighting, Datsun 240Z emblems, and a black rear trim panel. The selling dealer states that there is a small impression on one of the rear panels. An exterior walkaround video is available below.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 14-inch steel wheels with full Datsun hub caps is wrapped in 195/70 Summit radial tires that have fewer than 500 miles on them.
INTERIOR - FEATURES
The bucket seats, rear trim, and door panels are upholstered in new OEM black vinyl. Features include manual steering, power brakes, manual windows, new shifter bushings, new door and rear hatch weatherstripping, a RetroSound AM/FM stereo with aftermarket front speakers, and a three-spoke Datsun steering wheel with a wood rim. All interior lighting has been replaced with LED bulbs. A video of the interior can be seen below.
INTERIOR - GAUGES
A 160-mph speedometer, an 8K-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for the fuel level, amperage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 55,000 miles but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
According to the selling dealer, this car was previously maintained by Datsun Spirit of Manassas, Virginia. Power is provided by a 2.4-liter inline-six engine and backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Underhood features include an aluminum valve cover, dual carburetors, a red closed-element air filter, and a windshield washer. New parts include the head gaskets, distributor cap, spark plugs, and spark plug wires.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Datsun was factory-equipped with four-wheel independent suspension and a rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. A single exhaust system exits at the rear. A video and additional photos of the undercarriage can be seen in the carousel to the right.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The selling dealer will include the following items with the car:
- Original owner's manuals
- Warranty card
- RetroSound manual
- Uninstalled original bulbs
- Uninstalled aftermarket intake manifolds, carburetors, air cleaners, and other parts
The first new car I ever owned was a 240Z exactly like this one. $5,100 out the door, and wish I still had it. That's a fast car and really had a great feel. Hope the new owner enjoys it. Merry Christmas
