Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1973 Plymouth 'Cuda two-door hardtop came factory-optioned with a center console, a sport hood, and a dual exhaust system. It receives power from a 340ci V8 mated to an automatic transmission. Finished in yellow with black accents over a black vinyl interior, this third-generation ‘Cuda is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The yellow body is a respray and features black accents, fog lamps, a shaker hood scoop, hood pins, chrome bumpers and trim, color-keyed mirror caps, a rear spoiler, 340 decals, and dual rectangular exhaust outlets. Per the selling dealer, the vehicle was born with a vinyl top, but this was removed and replaced when it was painted.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Steel 15-inch Rallye wheels with polished trim rings are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cockpit is fitted with black vinyl high-back bucket seats up front and a bench in the rear, matched to the dash, center console, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include embroidered floor mats, lap belts, and an AM/FM/CD audio system.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation includes a 150-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, a clock, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 35,103 miles but the actual mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The 340ci V8 sends power to the wheels via a console-shifted automatic transmission. Per the selling dealer, the transmission was swapped from a four-speed manual to an automatic by a previous owner.

UNDERCARRIAGE

Braking is power-assisted. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the carousel to the right.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The following are taken from the selling dealer's breakdown of the trim tag:

N41 – Dual Exhaust

N42 – Bright Exhaust Tips

N85 – Tachometer

N95 – Evaporative Emission Controls

R11 – Two-watt AM Radio

J54 – Sport Hood

@denvernative – I read that there was only 11,000 'cudas built in 1973. So, I'm surprised to see the bidding so low. I've always assumed the fewer cars manufactured the higher the value. It looks like a heck of a hot rod. Nice color combo and the undercarriage looks clean. Has this car been timed down a track? I hope the reserve gets met! ...

I'm super surprised too! It was never tracked....

@NJohannessen – What $ will it take to close auction ...

The auction will run till the end . Disclosing information about the reserve defeats the purpose of an auction . But we are close enough that maybe with some more bids the reserve will come off tomorrow and sell. Good Luck Bidders
