OVERVIEW
This imported 1976 Nissan Patrol 4x4 sport utility vehicle received a mechanical and cosmetic overhaul within the past year and is powered by a 4.0-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes a newer soft top, bucket seats, a modern audio system, and a swing-away spare tire carrier. Finished in orange over a black vinyl interior, this Patrol is now offered by a repeat AutoHunter seller with import and EPA documentation, license plates, and transferrable Vermont registration in the current owner's name. The vehicle has been transported from it's home in Vermont to the sellers storage facility in Miami, Florida.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The 2022 restoration process included body disassembly, rust removal, and a respray in orange. The original soft top frame was recovered in black fabric. In addition, the rubber, glass, and various trim components were replaced. Features include a black front bumper, mesh grilles, dual hood-mounted mirrors, and a spare tire on a swing-away carrier at the rear.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
The black steel wheels are wrapped in worn Kumho Road Venture tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is fitted with new floors, newer black vinyl Nissan-branded bucket seats up front, a matching forward-facing rear bench, and body-colored metal panels for the doors and other areas of the cabin. The floor in the first row is covered with a rubber mat. Upgrades include a modern audio system, USB ports, and fresh air vents.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 140-km/h speedometer and a combination gauge for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 91,493 kilometers (56,851 miles), but the true mileage on the vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 4.0-liter OHC inline-six was rated at 145 horsepower and 235 lb-ft of torque and reportedly runs well with no outstanding mechanical needs. It received service to the carburetor, electrical system, and other mechanical areas in 2022 including the installation of new connecting rods, pistons, and seals. Power is sent to the wheels via a refurbished floor-shifted three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The shock absorbers, bushings, and kingpins were replaced within the last 500 miles. The unassisted four-wheel drum brakes received new shoes in May of 2022. The suspension uses a leaf-spring setup and is equipped with soft dampers for off-road use. A steering alignment was carried out in September. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the carousel on the right.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The seller has provided a series of videos below that show the exterior, interior, a start-up, and driving dynamics. The sale includes import and EPA documentation, license plates, and transferrable Vermont registration in the current owner's name. The vehicle does not have a title because Vermont does not issue titles on vehicles older than 15 years and only requires registration.
