OVERVIEW
This 1957 Volkswagen Beetle underwent a documented frame-off restoration and is powered by a reportedly numbers-matching air-cooled 1,200cc flat-four mated to a four-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes an AM/FM radio, chrome brightwork, map pockets, and lap belts. Finished in black over a saddle vinyl interior, this Beetle is now offered with restoration photographs, an instruction manual, the original sales contract, and Canadian registration.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The black exterior features chrome brightwork, a driver-side mirror, running boards, a fender-mounted antenna, VW-branded rear mud flaps, and dual exhaust outlets.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Steel 15-inch wheels with chrome hubcaps are wrapped in whitewall tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is fitted with saddle vinyl bucket seats up front and a bench in the rear. Features include lap belts, rubber flooring material, map pockets, aluminum door sill plates, an ashtray, and a push-button AM/FM radio. The original spare tire is mounted in the front trunk.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a VDO-branded 80-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 34,183 miles, although the seller states that the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The reportedly numbers-matching air-cooled 1,200cc flat-four uses a Bosch ignition system. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted four-speed manual transaxle.
