This 1979 MG MGB roadster is an original example finished in white over a black vinyl interior. Powered by the factory original 1,798cc inline-4, power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. The car is highly original and has been garage kept for the majority of its life. Located in Payson, Utah, this MGB is now offered for sale with factory manuals and literature, along with some service records, on a clear Utah title in the seller’s name
Finished in Leyland White, the car retains its factory finish along with the black soft-top with plastic rear windows. Black stripes run the length of the lower body, with black rubber bumpers front and rear. A chrome luggage rack is affixed to the trunk, while additional brightwork includes window trim, headlight bezels, side mirrors, door handles, and gas cap.
14” chrome spoke Western wheels are mounted on Prestige Radialmax tires measuring 175/70 on all around and installed in 2017. Braking is handled by factory power-assisted discs in the front and drums in the rear.
Inside, black bucket seats are upholstered with basketweave vinyl complemented by matching door panels, carpets, and dash. The dash face and center console feature burled wood trim with an aftermarket stereo housed in the factory location. The rear compartment is equipped with matching black carpeting, and a black boot cover for the convertible top is included in the sale.
Behind the black factory steering wheel sits a 7k-rpm tachometer, an 85-mph speedometer, and gauges with readouts for fuel level, oil pressure, voltage, and water temperature. The six-digit analog odometer shows 15k miles, which are claimed original by the seller. 2K of which were added by the seller over 3 years of ownership.
The 1,798cc inline-4 produced 62 horsepower and 88 lb-ft of torque when new, sending power through a 4-speed manual transmission to the rear wheels. Maintenance work in August 2020 included an oil and filter change. All major mechanical components are factory original per the seller.
Included in the sale are factory manuals and literature, along with some service records tonneau cover, and a convertible boot cover.
