OVERVIEW
This 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle two-door hardtop receives power from a big-block 454ci V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction rear end. Upgrades include AutoMeter gauges, Foose chrome wheels, Hotchkis suspension components, and a Grant steering wheel. Finished in dark gray with white stripes and a black vinyl roof over a black vinyl interior, this second-generation Chevelle is now offered with a clear Colorado title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The body is coated in dark gray with white stripes and off-white flames. Features include a driver-side mirror, blue pinstriping, chrome brightwork, a black vinyl roof, and a newer dual exhaust system. The seller notes that there are some blemishes in the paint upon closer inspection.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Chrome five-spoke Foose wheels are wrapped in newer Cooper Zeon RS3-R tires.
INTERIOR - FEATURES
The cabin is furnished with black vinyl front bucket and rear bench seating and matching surrounding materials. Features include manual windows, a Grant GT steering wheel, front lap belts, and power steering and brakes. The unlined trunk contains a later-model spare.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a sweeping 120-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge. Aftermarket AutoMeter gauges are mounted to the dash and display the oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 27,542 miles, but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown. According to the seller, the car has not been driven much since undergoing a rebuild.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The big-block 454ci V8 has been upgraded with a chrome air cleaner and an MSD ignition system. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt Positraction rear end with 3.70:1 gearing.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The suspension has been upgraded with Hotchkis components and features newer brakes all around, according to the seller. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the carousel to the right.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This Chevelle was previously sold on AutoHunter, but it is being relisted after the buyer backed out of the transaction through no fault of the seller.
