OVERVIEW
This 1971 Dodge Challenger is the product of a frame-off restoration and a custom build process that reportedly cost $230,000. It is powered by a 6.1-liter HEMI V8 backed by a 4L80-E four-speed automatic transmission. Features include Vintage Air climate controls, a tilt steering column, bucket seats, Baer power brakes, a custom widebody package, power windows, power rack-and-pinion steering, and a touchscreen Pioneer stereo. Finished in Sunrise Pearl with red stripes over a black leather interior, this Challenger is available now and comes with a clear California title in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR - FEATURES
The Sunrise Pearl exterior features a custom widebody package with flared fenders and quarter panels, a pinched nose, and a custom-fabricated hood. As a result, the body has been widened by two inches. The total cost of the paint and body work was reportedly $50,000. Additional exterior features include tucked and smoothed color-keyed bumpers, color-keyed mirror caps, shaved door handles, red accent stripes with flame graphics, and a custom rear panel and taillights.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 18-inch front and 20-inch rear Boze forged wheels is wrapped in 245/40 front and 315/35 rear Nitto radial tires.
INTERIOR - FEATURES
The late-model front bucket seats, rear seat, trim, and door panels are upholstered in black leather. Features include power windows, power steering and brakes, Vintage Air climate control with air conditioning, a Pioneer touchscreen stereo with hands-free capabilities, a center console with cup holders, and an aftermarket three-spoke steering wheel with a leather grip.
INTERIOR - GAUGES
A 120-mph AutoMeter speedometer with an integrated 8K-rpm tachometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. The digital odometer reads 1,700 miles, reflecting the mileage accrued since the build process was completed. The true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by an Indy Cylinder Head-prepared 6.1-liter HEMI V8 paired with 5.7-liter heads and a 4L80-E four-speed automatic transmission. Underhood features include Indy Cylinder Head cast aluminum valve covers, an aluminum Indy Mod-Man intake with dual 500-cfm Edelbrock four-barrel carburetors, relocated coil packs, and an MSD HEMI ignition. Additional features include an orange open-element air cleaner, a chrome master cylinder, tube exhaust headers, billet aluminum hood hinges, and an aluminum radiator with electric fans.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Challenger is equipped with an independent front suspension, rack-and-pinion steering, tubular control arms, a Dana 60 rear end, and front and rear sway bars. Power braking hardware consists of a Hydroboost setup with Baer 13-inch discs and six-piston calipers. A full-length dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
